What I love about "retail" wow

Cool story bro, maybe next time you can share your own opinion instead of what the community collectively thinks. I hear people always change. Classic won’t always be praised, it’s only a matter of time.

What does retail’s shortcomings have to do with Classic? I didn’t say anything about Classic.

Sounds like you have an agenda.

Ahh, we’re playing that game eh?

When did I say Retail was perfect? Merely disagreeing with your earlier statement.

I didn’t say you said retail was perfect.

I said PvP or attaching grinds to mounts (which was your defense to my suggestion that BFA lacks depth) is not a BFA innovation nor was it something improved upon from prior expansions.

It’s a critique of the current expansion.

I never said it was, what are you even yapping about?

You are incredibly hostile and edgy. Take the chip off your shoulder.

I said that BFA is full of instant rewards and shallow content, and you cite grinding a PvP mount as a counterpoint… and then ask me what I’m “yapping about”

??? lol??

I like retail because; it fits my busy lifestyle as a caretaker irl working over 16 hours a day. Not because; I am a casual, I’m trying to gear through raids and everything, even do rated PvP. I enjoy the game, even the RP aspect of it, it is just something to look forward to after work and if I have a bad day.

This would be awesome, but I highly doubt it’ll ever happen.

What I love about retail WoW:
No ammo.
No having to carry arrows and bullets just in case an upgrade dropped that used different ammo.
No having to carry different grades of ammo to kill different difficulties of mobs.
No running out of ammo mid-instance.

I liked the immersion ammo gave me. I also liked that some ammunition would give your arrows a glow, like the stuff from AV. And I think the engineered saronite arrows from ICC patch did as well? mgiht be wrong about those.

Really wish hunters could have glow back. Only class that doesn’t get to enjoy enchant mogs. I swear they had glows for a few patches in Mop too. so weird.

The secret is, she was always like that, at least since Wrath. This is just the first time she’s been this way in both Alliance and Horde quests. Turns out, killing yourself and returning from Hell makes you an Evil Demon and all the scheming was just a facade.

Yeah, that would be nice. I wouldn’t mind having a quiver or ammo pouch as part of a mog, either. But there’s no way I want to go back to carrying ammo–unless Blizz let me have 50-slot bags as well.

Now, ammo is fine for Classic. There will be far less stuff taking up bag space, and having to keep track of ammo does give a completely different feel to the class–as well as having to feed and train your pet, not even having a pet until lvl 10, using melee when someone gets too close, mana as a resource, etc. Hunter was definitely a completely different class back then.

Oh, hey look, hunter weapon! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I mean, I would just love if I could have retail content but with Classic playstyle, in a way.

I agree with a lot of your list op. A couple things id add are flying, vendor/passenger mounts, and the lack of long, soul crushing attunements.

I didn’t mind attunments on classic so much. I think transmog would have been a bit however

  1. The Graphics
  2. Transmog
  3. Better class/spec balance
  4. More playable races
  5. More Race/Class combos
  6. More content
  7. I like grouping with friends across realms.
  8. Death Knights, Monks, and Demon Hunters
  9. Allied Races ( Although, the Horde have slightly better ones. )

That being said, I plan on fiddling around in Classic when it goes live to get some idea of what it was like.

I like different things about retail, but I’m also not sure how I really feel about that.

I enjoy that anyone can run dungeons, without needing a key or to kill a boss within a dungeon to access another part of the dungeon, but at the same time that is pretty immersive and cool.

I like that mounts don’t instantly dismount the second a single pixel touches water, that was horribly annoying.

I like that reagents aren’t a thing because running out of them in the middle of content and literally being unable to use an ability (feather fall, blind, a buff, summon doomguard, etc…) felt bad and kind of made raids take way longer because mandatory breaks were needed to go back to town to restock. Even when you thought you had enough, you didn’t have enough.

Even mage portals required a reagent ;x

I enjoy flying of course, and I actually enjoy all the gameplay for classes I personally have tried right now. I haven’t enjoyed Hunter in a long time but I’m loving it again, Demonology Warlocks is amazing, I enjoy both DPS Shaman specs, Retribution Paladin is fun again now. All the added abilities since then, Divine Storm, Crusader strike, etc… same for the other classes is enjoyable. YMMV.

I like that treasure boxes are out in the world, even if they’re filled with useless junk. I don’t know why, it just feels cool.

I like the new “rare spawns” which are usually just more powerful than ordinary foes but they can still be solo’d, that’s pretty fun.

I genuinely think Expeditions are fun and amusing, Warfronts too, plus all the other regular content like 5 mans and such.

I like rated Battlegrounds, which aren’t in classic or even BC I think.

I miss the pre-cata world though a lot.

I like every expansion more than the previous one - jury is still out on BFA as it is still in production.

The only backwards thing is that pathfinder is too extreme. I’m not against working for flying, but it is just too extreme in my opinion.
