Here is a list of what the forum has deemed acceptable
It’s ok to ruin someone else’s game, as long as it’s funny: such as portals in AV, abusive vote to kick, and the vast amount of trolling. Imagine if when you wanted to load up say…the Witcher three you randomly had to wait 15 minutes sometimes to do what you wanted?
It’s ok to abuse vote to kick, but only if it doesn’t Target certain servers, because servers are a race of people: this one is madness. You can kick anyone for any reason, but if you kick someone because of their server it is not ok, and is racism and bigotry
As long as it has been done that way for a long time it’s ok: AV portal abuse has been ok for 15 years therefore it’s ok. How long was slavery ok for?
It’s not ok to talk about important topics that people disagree with, but if you wanna talk about pancakes vs waffles you are a saint
PvP is a side game that no one cares about, so you can’t ask for changes.
Raiders are gods gift to earth. This one I agree with actually, someone who is able to do 3 basic mechanics and commands is a rare find these days.
I’ve learned that it’s 99% opinions here…And that it Sometimes appears that concerns and complaints are shared by a vocal minority of the playerbase that believe general discussion repsresents what we all want.
I have learned despite all the negativity, teeth gnashing, rage quitting and the like, there are some genuinely nice, rational and most importantly funny people on here.
I’ve learned that while some people on the forums are interesting; in general it is an awful way to waste time. And that I’m still not over the loss of my favourite MMO. Because I constantly compare WoW to TSW.
What ive learned on this forum is that we PRETEND here to be civil and polite and decent…while we all know that IN GAME its an entirely different world. We try to use the crap…‘there are children present’ in here…knowing there are kids playing the game and its filled with profanity and nastiness that goes unpunished most of the time.
I think we like to pretend we’re better people than we are on the forum. I mean, posts that arent uncivil at all or breaking any rule will be flagged into a blood stain on the floor by players who are very likely pretty nasty in the game where they know they can get away with it because nothing will happen in azeroth for behavior that is 1000 times worse than what will get you perma banned in here.
The players who talk about the importance of “community”, are already in a good guild. Some (not all) cannot fathom the exhaustion, and frustration of finding the right guild, weeding out the bad ones, and making friends in this game.
I mean, being social in general is a pretty taxing thing. It takes a lot of energy to do it. That being said, as long as I avoid the known cesspools like trade chat, most people in this game are actually quite friendly, you just have to be willing to open up a dialogue yourself and not press peoples buttons.
