So I’m running around the Cauldron in Searing Gorge last night doing my quests and mining. I had just got done killing a couple dark iron dwarves when i turn around and see a night elf warrior in a bunch of trouble with multiple mobs.
That’s when i did it. I charged in, swapped to defensive stance taunted and pulled off the night elf to save them with nothing but a sliver of health left.
I’m hoping it was just kindred warrior spirit and knowing the fresh hell of leveling a warrior solo that made me do it, but i did it. I saved an alliance player. What have i become?

A decent sentient being. I’ve never understood the hostility between Tauren and Night Elves.

We’re enemies. That’s the hostility. This is a big part of vanilla was the faction hatred. I ain’t gonna lie. Anytime I see an alliance character taking on too many mobs I sit down, pull out a bowl of popcorn, and hope to see some death. We’re enemies. Act like it.
I save the enemy faction all the time. I’m honestly usually a pretty relaxed player unless I get tanked and then I’m hostile to everything red.

Haha, I do this often. I pause to make sure other players are doing alright, no matter which faction they’re on. It’s part of the reason I switched to a non PvP server. I like helping.

I’m talking lore. I understand the Horde/Alliance thing, just don’t understand the reason those two races have been shoehorned into such animosity. Seems to me that those two wpuld be a powerful means to broker peace…

wanna kno something even crazier… i was doing mai zoth… i think thats the name… and an undead came in 6 lvls lower than me… i was fighting this solo and he came in and helped me out of nowhere… so i sat there for the next 15mins for respawn and helped him kill it when he was very very under lvled… sometimes we all just tryna get the xp in baby!! we bowed to each other and left lol

At least for a good chunk of original-Classic, the current faction leader of the night elves is/was Fandral Staghelm (haven’t checked whether it’s him or Tyrande now, and I’m not actually sure I could check that now), who recently oversaw the creation of a new, selfishly created and unblessed world tree, which is corrupting the land. Night elves are responsible for the worst environmental damage of any playable race in the game (which, with the things gnomes, Forsaken, and dwarves do, is saying something).
(I know that in Cataclysm they totally dropped that angle, declared the new World Tree blessed after all, and gave night elves their immortality back; thankfully, none of that matters to the game we’re playing, but I have to spell it out or someone would reference it to tell me I’m wrong.)
