What have been the most OP classes/specs throughout WoW?

In the history of WoW what specs have had time as the most brokenly OP?

Only rule is that they had to stay that way for longer than 2 weeks and not because of a bug.

So what class/spec gets your vote?

Shamans dont know what the spec was but that was a very long time ago.

Warlocks have been brokenly OP in almost every patch in WoW history, so they get my vote. Don’t have a specific spec in mind but the class has had a top 3 dps spec in almost every raid tier since WoD.

Combat Rogue had a good long run in the elder days. The re-imagining was pretty OP until they nerfed roll the bones.

Easily augmentation evoker. No other spec in the game at any point in history has come close to touching how insanely broken this spec was and still is.

Arcane Mage in Legion with Prophecy of Doom trinket. A raid of us carried people(1 for 1) for heroic Archimonde kills all day every day for months. So much gold…

Arcane missles go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

rogues (at least one spec), resto druids, dh, priests

Warriors in vanilla

DKs and Ret during Wrath launch

Dozens of others I’m sure.

hero classes do not count like dks. crap i mentioned dh.

Cata rogue and mages. Kinda owned pvp at the time.

Maybe fire mage in 8.3 BFA season 4. In M+ and raid, super super strong. Maybe destro lock and survival hunter in SL s3 and s4.

Warlock without question. Never been a time in WoW where one of the specs wasn’t amazing or part of whatever Meta at the current Endgame

No spec has ever had they impact on the game that Augvoker has had. The unnerfed version of Augvoker upon release was probably double the strength of the next strongest spec in WoW history (unholy DK from WoTLK?).

Warrior geared at 60 in classic.

Warlock in classic.

Warlock in SoD.

I disagree.

Warlock in Classic was literally the best class in all content. It wasn’t even close.

Throughout the entirety of Classic and never had a spec not be meta.

Augvoker has been constantly nerfed. Its main saving grace is that it has 0 competition right now.

Warlock had competition and blew them all out the water in Classic.

I suppose it really comes down to what your definition of powerful is. If it’s relative to the competition like you frame Warlock to be, then I suppose that’d be a good answer. Augvoker doesn’t have competition, but upon release it literally made your +20 key feel like a +13. No other spec in history has done anything like this.

The week augvoker was released, all key levels shot up by 3. And, yes, you can certainly attribute some of that to fire mage, holy pal, and guardian druid, but even comps without those 3 still gained 2 key levels overnight with an aug.

Mage, warlock, rogue, hunter, and death knight. I would say those classes have been the most op. Varying degrees such as stats or simply even bugs that lasted for a good chunk of time. Like in Wod, warlocks rain of fire blasted people through arenas and the ones that did it first didnt get rolled back.

Hunters!

What? I can dream.

none, just players on different skill levels.
