What has your experience soloing the Horrific Visions?

Do you see it as possible for Druids to solo more than one or two of the bosses?

Possible? Yes, ive been running my boomkin in horrific visions, ive always played resto up until a few weeks ago as i suspected i might be to be able to go boomy for some 8.3 content and i dont have an agi weapon and my azerite is really bad for feral.

So far my experience in HVs has been vastly different on my boomchicken compared to my DH, DH just mongo pulls and flys through killing everything with no caution.

My starchicken on the other hand can more or less complete the same goals i just have to be alot smart and go about it in a different way, usually what ill do is go in, pull the 2 guards and the 2 packs to the left of thralls building, use trees and azerite beam and finish those off, go up the hill and pull the faceless and 4 voidwalkers and get those down, run in and pull 2 pack and use barkskin there, after that trees should be back up. Click my totems and pull the last 3 or 4 trash packs and use trees, incarn and whatever else i need to finish them, kill miniboss and go for the other corrupted area, all while stealthing as much trash as possible. Kill next miniboss head back to thrall and lust him. Its a pretty tight timer, i feel it would be abit easier if i was feral, i did run 1 with a rogue and it was his first “real run” and we did a corrupted area and lost area and it was soo much easier on me because i didnt have to deal with melee mechanics.

So i see it being possible to clear multiple bosses, you just need to play abit smart than you might on other classes, and obviously the better gear you have and the further you get into the research the better off you will be.

Another thing to note just incase you were unaware is you can drop the sanity orb and pull a mob to you and still gain sanity whilst fighting the mob

I’m possibly a weird case in the sense that I hate playing DPS and avoid doing it whenever I can. Prior to 8.3 the last time I used a DPS spec was in the mage tower, so I’m definitely really bad at playing them. So I’ve been going in as Guardian kitted out for as much AoE damage as possible and pulling crazy big on the trash packs, then switching to the single target focused laser chicken for the bosses of each zone.

Could probably do better if I knew how to play boomy at all, but this is what’s been working for me.

Bear feels really good in these, so I’ve been doing pretty well in them. Spent most of my time in early runs actually learning mechanics so I was only getting 1-2 areas done+thrall. My last run of this week (w/ cloak level 5) did wisdom->spirits->drag->thrall, ended with about 100 sanity + still had the one free 500 sanity revive banked up. I expect that with the +200 sanity on elite kills research or some decent corruption from the raid to start full clearing next week.

Between prowl, cat form speed, our various speed boosts, and instant cast mounting we’re really good at moving around the map. Bear takes pretty much 0 damage so aside from a few specific mobs (dominators) we’re free to pull however much we want. Single-target is a slight issue, but not a big deal in the long run (especially when you can just take off half an elite’s health with a single cyclotronic blast cast).

Overall, feeling pretty good about it. I don’t see anything live long enough to justify switching out of bear spec yet.

I feel like feral would do pretty well in these, too. Lots of little mobs to farm Predator procs off of, good self healing after every spender, superior damage compared to bear. Just not as safe as Bear/Havoc.

Cleared 2 of the minor wings and killed Thrall as an Ilvl 450 feral. Solo of course.

As a balance druid on the PTR I was able to do a full clear of the Stormwind vision with my 445 gear when I had enough research and a high enough cloak unlocked. With other 8.3 gear it shouldn’t be a problem.

What build did you use a Boomkin for solo vision?

I just use my standard generic build with the key talents being Force of Nature, Incarnation, Twin moons, and Fury of elune.

Boomkin is pretty decent in horrific visions. Obviously, as a caster we are at a disadvantage due to the interrupts needed and some of the heavier movement sections. However, with treants, fury, twin moons, and most importantly r3/r4 focusing iris, you can get some pretty big pulls accomplished.

Only able to 5 mask with gift. But u have to have both of the damage increase traits

I think horrific visions was a great idea but it was implemented poorly. It’s much easier to do them now since they raised the amount of coalescing essence you get from dailies but still content locked behind a grind is not a good idea. I think rewards and stuff is fine, but the actual content locked behind a grind (at max level) is not a good idea. By the time I grind enough essences to actually do the vision I don’t even care about it anymore. The actual visions are fun though.

i can soloed 3mask in Feral (Orgrimmar, Stormwind not yet)

Good job! Get some more gear like dresta’gath’s trinket and you’ll be all set.

With no masks Visions are stupidly easy. A full clear depends on your cloak lvl. Otherwise the only thing stopping you completing is your sanity not your ilvl.

5 masks are a different story. Once you’re 470 ilvl you should be able to burn most stuff down pretty easily, however you can still get in a bad CC chain which can kill you. Mobs wont kill you, but their CC in combination your masks affixes will.

Getting feared, into a split personality, into a touch of the abyss for example > its pretty much gg.

I found Druid to be harder than Warrior or Paladin. But still very doable, I solo 5 masked both on Balance. And just did Orgrimmar tonight on feral.

I did a 3 mask on the bear but I honestly feel better doing it as dps. Just more squishy.

Maxing your cloak, pushing up your momento tree are the two biggest game changers. Next is getting the buff from the mini named mobs and Looking for the sanity potion.

A lot of things can be tracked with addons to make them stupid easy. But I did them without the addons on a controller and it was still pretty easy. Follow mechanics and figure a preferred route.

My druid as tank regularly does 4 mask Horrifics…he tried a 5 mask once but got rapped

As a feral, I can solo the entire things with 4 masks.
