Are people just skipping M+ 2-16 and just somehow jumping right into 17/18 keys?
This is my first week pushing into 17 keys, and it’s insane how many people are messing up simple mechanics. It wasn’t even this bad at the 2-4 level, which is where I expect people to fail A LOT as they learn the dungeons.
Rise used to be my favorite dungeon, but I’m 0-3 so far this week. Tanks keep spinning the boss frontal attacks, people can’t find the real Morchie before getting 1-shot, I’m the only one helping soak on the 1st boss, etc.
Am I just running into bad luck with PuGs, or is there something in the water? A full moon?

Yeah, I went from 2’s to 18’s at the start of the season.

+17 is the minimum to get end-of-dungeon Hero gear. +18 is the minimum to get Myth gear from your vault. +16 is the minimum if just farming aspect crests but usually people go one or two higher for those other reasons.
So yeah, those rewards are just too tempting. People want the good rewards, and they don’t mind if you have to carry them a bit.

it’s tyrannical.
+17 T is +21 F. And we don’t do 21, rewards stop at 20. At 18 with upgrades.
simply put, we dont fight the bosses in this form too often.

Last week was an easy push week, so a lot of players probably got higher keys in their GVs from whatever they did last week. Lots of players are also rolling alts, so they might jump directly into Hero track dungeons with their friends.

My experience pugging was 17s and 18s are the first real roadblocks most players run into this season , everything up until that point doesnt matter near as much and you can fail repeatedly and still time the key
I actually enjoy the lenient timers and easier season honestly, people are a lot nicer to each other and theres way less pressure

it is a very enjoyable season.

I mean you get plus 3 and get right up to 18 super fast. People pretty much start at 17 / 18…
You can time 20s across the board without even knowing what you’re doing.

Well yeah, anyone can be carried through any content.

Sorta. I think what’s happening is 17/18 Tyrannical is around the point where most boss mechanics will start to 1 shot you if mishandled. In seasons past, that number has been a whole lot lower.
So it’s very viable to get to this point without fully understanding mechanics, especially on those Dawn of the Infinite dungeons. Don’t get me wrong, not the hardest dungeons… but easily some of the more unintuitive mechanics. It’s real easy to get to relatively high keys while not fully getting what’s going on around you.
That’s because on Fortified, it isn’t a OHKO so people just stand in it.
So I’m on my 4th character today. Finally geared enough to knock out portals. I had a 19 ad. Btw, these are all true stories.
-19 ad, hunter doesn’t feign a single fixate at rezan, and also doesn’t lust. When asked why he didn’t lust, he said he was “holding it for totem boss”
-20 eb, hunter stands as far to the right side of the room during the first boss as you can possibly be, so most of the roots spawned under his feet miles away from the boss. Same key, a fire mage does 143k overall in an everbloom…
-20 rise, hunter doesn’t lust first pack, doesn’t lust Tyre. When asked why he didn’t lust, you’re not gonna believe this, he said he was holding it for the second boss…

The biggest difference in mechanics is that nothing kills you at that level and even a mediocre healer can just heal you up through those mechanics
Rise is by far the hardest dungeon of the season and it’s really not close. But you only feel that at higher keys again mechanics hit harder
As someone who hates being in charge of lust and is now mainly playing 2 classes without lust, sometimes I wish I was in charge of lust.
You can’t learn dungeons at a 2 to 4 key level. I have no idea what anything is doing at +4 honestly I just smash buttons.

Seems like the last 2 weeks I have seen a lot of bad groups in the 14-20 range.
So bad at 20 that I gave up pushing 20s on my druid and picked up my WW monk. Only to be met with the same kind of bads in the 14-16 bracket.
Imo, you starr to see a lot less bad players beyond 20’s. I guess people that only want portals stop at 20, where as those who push further take time to learn mechanics and try to play better in order to be able to do so.
Its because 18 is the new 16 this season. 18 gives you wait 16 gave you last season which was the lowest key you could do to get a mythic track item.

Because the timers are so lenient and keys are only about survival it’s pretty easy to 3 chest your way into a 17-18 key as long as things aren’t one shotting you.
