What Happens When You Change Covenants?

I’m not quite sure I want to change covenants yet but I’m getting to a point where I sort of don’t like my choice. I’ve grinded my current covenant pretty hard so I just wanted to know what I’ll lose if I join a different one? Do I lose my building progress? Do I lose my anima? Do I lose anything else I’m not thinking of?

Just trying to make sure I understand what I’m getting into if I do decide to change and if it’ll even be worth changing if I do end up losing everything.

Your anima will stay in that covenant. So if you leave and join back it will still be there. Same with upgrades.

Unfortunately, all the soul remnants and anima do not transfer over in any way shape or form.

I’m currently debating about switching mine as well though I feel I spent so much time farming for it. The earlier on the better it will be to change.

I just wish they had used the delay time they had to actually balance covenants. As it stands so many of them are better than others and it makes the choice less about what you want and more about what you need to do well. Of course, if they balance them now they’ll be stuck in a catch-22 where people will certainly feel “forced” to change to something else because its what they really wanted or suddenly another covenant is better.

Atleast from the classes I chose, the balance isn’t to bad. Maybe it will change when we unlock further soul binds.

For instance with monk
Necrolord = king aoe
Kyrian = king st
Fae = mix of both
Venthyr = just bad

I chose necrolord but I’m feeling like I should change because my class with inherintly have good aoe, but now I’m feeling is it better to push kyrian so my st is better? Or mix? Or just stay necro for aoe. I think if I want to change, I need to now because the further along we get the longer it will take to return to top of renown and such. Feels like such a difficult choice.

Did you end up changing? I am thinking about changing on Tuesday but I just got the companion [Meatball] last night and I am kind of wondering if I will be able to keep him or not lol

I bought the gear and refunded it, so I took all but 5 anima with me. Did not take the 111 souls though and have to start from scratch.

I was there too, and decided to make my Holy priest my primary spec - odd, I thought Necrolord was the spec for Holy but come to find out Kyrian is?

Anyway, I decided to see what would really happen…

Obvious you lose all renown, but are able to do gimmie quests to get your renown to 6. Like gather 5 souls from the Maw, etc…

One nice surprise, all my gear from Necrolords that I upped to 7/7 is still usable. Nothing told me that I would or would not keep that.

Surprise two, all those things you collect for your soul binds, they all transfer with you.

I’m near to exalted with Kyrian already, so burning through the storyline will get me exalted I hope. I’m going to imagine I can get renown 40 in a few weeks of really working at it and be back where I was at.

Not really all that bad switching, I expect to be ready for June 29th patch.

From what I read, yes you keep those. I cannot tell you since my table is ready to see for myself.
