More specifically, not the transmog, I know that goes away when i swap. However i just upgraded a bunch of gear to 197, and I would like to switch. Since this currently makes up most of my slots right now (hes an alt), I don’t want to swap to find out its all becomes greyed out and unequiable and im back to 184 ilvl, and then cant even do content to grind renown catch like normal raid next week.
I’m getting the feeling I’m boned until i replace those slots with real gear, but i was hoping someone who has done it can give me some inisght. Pray to baby Jesus for me that it just swaps to the other factions covenant armor …

You lose the Tmog to wear them, that’s basically it. You will not lose them permanently because they will be usable the moment you change back to that covenant. As far as needing to earn renown or progression, I dunno. And for being converted like it was faction armor, I don’t think that works.
can confirm, the item remains equipped and usable
however you can no longer mog over it and cannot mog to it either, it becomes a dead spot
How does that work? Will i be naked?
So for example, if im nightfae right now and go Kyarian, it will stay equipt and usable, but i can’t use the actual appearance nor mog over it. Not like, its equiptable if ever go back to Nightfae (such as the way sanctum upgrades and followers work).
If you’re wearing the armor, you are still visually wearing that armor you just can’t use it as a transmog option over other armor unless you belong to the covenant.
If you want to not look like your old covenant, transmog over it before you switch, the new transmog will remain, and you won’t be able to mog it again.
Stays the same armour. I’d just start working on the new set after you swap and keep the old one in the back incase you change your mind.
