It’s been a little while since we presumably wrapped up with the Nerubians in Azj-Kahet and while we did get some exposition leading up to the climax of dethroning Ansurek there’s still a lot of unanswered questions…
For one what ever happened to Y’tekhi? The Ascended Xal’atah seized control of right Infront of us or the other Ascended after Ansurek was removed? Were they cast out? Is wider Nerubian society trying to work on protecting them from the Harbringer’s influence? Why were there ethereals getting involved and taking an interest in forcing ascension? Are there more dark plans for the Ascended…?
I cannot be the only one who hopes that some of these questions are later answered, it is alluded to at the end of the Nerubar Palace raid that “time will tell,” how things play out-- I just hope we aren’t finished with the Nerubians just yet!
Thoughts, opinions? Anything anyone else noted or is looking out for?

I honestly cant help but think that ending Xal’atath’s influence on them could lead to playable Nerubians.
I’ll be honest, I’ve found them getting a more humanoid model suspect from the beginning and would be more surprised if they didn’t become playable.
Unfortunately they outright said a race with four arms is not happening.
They also denied the Vulpera becoming playable.
I take the wait and see approach when it comes to new playable races as we never know. For example, I am mystified at the lack of playable Ogres.

That’s what I do too. Because frankly, blizz will often say one thing and than decide to the complete opposite.

Who cares if they say no? They say yes the minute they realize WHATEVER it is will bring in the $$$&
It would be a nice, very distinct race to have that certainly is not anything like the other options!
Because of the prominence of the models in both the raid and Azj-Kahet they also do have an impressive amount of animations already for different weapon types and general emotions/actions. It’s not impossible! I’d love to see them on the roster.

Y’tekhi and the Ascended Nerubians will start a new life, like the Void Elves or Dracthyrs did, in Azj-Kahet. Not sure how and if they will still be a part of the nerubian socitey of Azj-Kahet but it will be a new start for them.

I remember reading that when the Skitterlings were introduced to Nerubian society they were not liked at first but after time they became appreciated members. Hopefully the same can be said for the Ascended eventually!
Nerubians would take a lot more work, they don’t have a standard skeleton to build on so every piece of armor would need rework.

For now at least, they will go in the same box we quietly put the Primalists and most every other antagonist that was told to exit stage left.
