So I tried finding the book and apperently said book is delayed to June 2025. Like what the ever living fel happened?
Just a shot in the dark, but maybe itās because Metzen has returned and some edits needed to be made? Usually a six month-ish delay turns out to be something along those lines. Or maybe they decided they needed more original material?
Oh, or it could be an issue with the publisher or/and distributor.
Honestly, it could be a lot of things now that Iām thinking of it, but usually a six month delay (as opposed to an indeterminate one) is on the author/editor end. Blizzard in this case.
Both Amazon and Barnes & Noble show it as available now online, and Nobbel had a giveaway for a copy on stream today, so it should be out now.
I knew I should have clicked the link instead of taking Zerdeās word for it!!
Zerde, if youāre not in the US, it could just already be sold out in your country?
Hey this is a quote from the comments:
The book is on pre-order until June 2025ā¦

This book is on pre-order until the middle of next year so I canāt possibly write an actual review of it just yet.
So I assume it was still the case.
So now I am curious why no one has talked about the last of the shorts considering it would be about Faerin Lothar.
It is weird that I cannot find any reviews online for it. Or even audience ratings.
I dunno!! Now Iām intrigued!!

Like I did a search on Barnes and Noblesā website using Irvine CA and it says no copies found in any of their stores. Like, what?
I did some poking around, andā¦ Nothing in New England, nothing in New York state, Florida or Texas, nothing near Chicago, Phoenix or any other city I checked, butā¦ There is a store in New Jersey that supposedly has one? (Caldor Plaza, Woodland Park, NJ for the curious).
This is very strange. Maybe they did a very limited run for store shelves, and most of them sold out. That doesnāt seem very likely, given the abscence of them anywhere else I did a quick search of, but maybe.
Or it could be that the one place with a copy has it because someone did pick-up order and cancelled after it arrived. The book might only be availavle for order, and not kept on shelves.
I dunno, this is very strange!!
Two likely options for the hold up
- Production issue: Sometimes, a publisher will change their contracted print house, either because they are offered a lower cost, or their prior one went out of business, which can cause havoc while things shift and printing grinds into gear. Other times there is a distributor dispute that hangs things up.
- Contract issue: Someone who published one of the short stories, or did some of the art is now throwing a fit about something. This can cause production to halt until things are sorted.
I honestly think this could be the case, Blizzard has already uploaded 5/6 of the shorts on the website. Like they use to upload one or two shorts and keep the rest in the book(see Chromieās short story)
Seem like that would kill interest in buying the book. Might even have pissed the book publisher.
Amazon has it for sale and if I bought it today I can get it by Jan 25. Could be a warehouse issue where you guys live.
