What happened to the sound effects!?

I stopped playing in WoD, mained a Bear for long long time; came back at end of BFA and started playing Pally…

I noticed with Pally too all the combat sounds went from sounds of battle to sounds of pots and pans clanging.

Bear Mangle used to make a deep and satisfying super bassy “dhooooum” sound…

Now it’s more of a “fwip” like someone folding a kitchen towel or a wet fart…

What happened to the awesomeness that used to be this games impressive visual effects(especially considering the systems they were written on!)…

Also, a lot of the visuals, especially with Lock and Shaman are just…worse.

What happened to wow?

Agreed. Even some of the Feral sounds (I think it’s Shred?) are awful now. They sound so weak. It’s disappointing to the point I turn off sound except when I pvp.

There was mini patch right before 8.3 were they jacked all the sounds up and even added a slide whistle to the turtle match game.

Always suspected that’s were things started to go south and slide whistle bearing interns were running around unsupervised.

I was starting to think I was crazy, except the old Mangle sound is super hard to forget.

Old Mangle sound was perfect. It really sounded like a bear swatting the wheels right off of something.

“FHOOOM!!!” turned into “fwap”.

The feral druid nice roars and scratches that use to sound like an attackin tiger, now sound like a rubber band flicking a drum​:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:. Wish they would roll back there sounds updates. But still my fav class none the less.

I noticed this as well!

It’s crazy because I can’t think of a good reason why they would change them to sounds that are so timid and unengaging.
