“There must always be a Lich King” to keep the scourge in check. Well, no more Lich King. So why isnt the scourge running amok all over Azeroth?
Actually I really miss the core basics of the game. Now we have interdimensional purple wormholes (I call it Shadowlands 2.0 lol). Now throw in machinery in the planet that turns it into Cybertron lol. I just don’t get this disjointed storyline anymore. That is the brutal truth. I could barely handle Orcs from Space lol. What am I missing here…

Last seen attacking Redridge and Ghostlands. 
Supposedly the untamed Scourge has claimed Icecrown and are creating more undead but at a drastically slower rate in Northrend’s chronicle during the events of Shadowlands. 
The Scourge have already consumed the Ice Trolls out of Zul’Drak. 
…after the Shadowlands, the undead now have free will. 
I believe the Scourge was cannonically eradicated in the prepatch stuff for Shadowlands. Been a while, but pretty sure that was the reason they aren’t doing exactly that.

With that being said some or the Nerubians were a big part of the Scourge in Northrend. How will that factor with the War Within?
Northrend will become one massive graveyard of a continent.
None. The Nerubian Queen in War Within ignored the call for aid in Northrend.
Only returning face is Mr. Sunflower so far in the story.

Its a shame. Northrend had some really great zones. Probably some of the best in WOW hands down.
Grizzly Hills with its background music is so refreshing and one that tops the charts. I think it’s safe to say if anything happens to Northrend there’d be a lot of sad players.
Like I said, been a bit, and I stopped caring about the lore something like…around BFA.
I had the same thought a few days ago. Last we saw was from that guy in sl who got killed by them
I believe their leaders were eradicated.
While Blizz may have just forgotten about them, I don’t see how the Scourge could be a genuine threat to the rest of Azeroth given they were beaten into borderline non-existence in Wrath, and I doubt Tirion or the Agrent Crusade just allowed Bolvar to go about rebuilding it to full strength.

the Scourge is hanging out in an interdimensional green room with the Burning Legion, the Twilight cultists, and now the Primalists and the Sundered Flame waiting for a portal to open in a future expac so that Illidan or Uther or Thrall or maybe YOU can defeat them ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!
This was my understanding as well.
We are really overdue for a full world revamp to bring everything to the current point in the timeline.
What remains of them are in smaller remnants of them now specially in Northrend.
At the end of the campaign you see a conversation where they say they will let the scourge run free and then they turn the helm of domination into some gay crown thing for a random character. pretty stupid.
