So if anyone remembers the very first cinematic we got of Sylvanas and a sneak peak at the jailer he was this MASSIVE towering being of steel behind her with massive shackles and she was barely a blimp compared to him… then at some point he became Mr Clean gone Evil and shrunk in size by about 10x.
Is there any lore to this or reasoning behind it or is this just a random change?

Duh, he’s got a big hole in his chest. The Jailor is an Arrancar

pretty sure his model wasn’t finished by the announcement trailer so that was just a temporary thing

Yeah the very first cinematic they hadn’t actually decided what he was going to look like. So it was just a mystery silhouette. Later on it became the official thing we have now.
Im not real far into the campaign but i do find it funny how they keep trying to describe how terrible it is in the maw without being able to describe anything terrible.
Like a repeat of Legions, “They did Things to us.”

The Jailer is just a personification of Activision and the shareholders that have done horrible things to Azeroth to maximize their profits

I’ll be 100% honest, and I promise I didn’t see any spoilers or anything.
But I think the actual Jailor is that guy in Torghast, the forgotten one. He is absolutely massive, looks like his actual form isn’t what we see him as, and he’s extremely frightening if he gets to full power I feel. He also looks a lot more like the Jailor we saw, and not the one we currently believe is the Jailor. Plus he’s in chains etc, I feel we’re in for a twist later down the road.

Interesting thought there. He is def a very mysterious figure and wouldn’t be surprised if he’s part of a grand twist. I like it!
I don’t think the true jailer has a free-roaming form, even in the Maw.
I’d imagine Sauron the Naked the Jailer probably has to manifest an avatar since he’s likely heavily bound somewhere.
I’m honestly excited to find out.
No he isn’t Arrancar’s and Hollow’s have a hole going completely through them. This example of bad character design doesn’t.
That was probably just trying to hype people up with the powerful big bad guy. Then they probably realize there’ll less room to go later if they do super god now.
And we Death Knights are the Soul Reapers!
