To be precise what happened to the lore books you could find in game that you could find at random places around Azeroth that would tell you a brief summary of past events. I remember the search for those rather fondly and I think it was fun to have them in the game. Does anyone know why they seem to have been removed?
They are still there, there are achievements for them.
You can still find them laying around Kaliimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. There just have not been any added in the newer zones, atleast not to my knowledge.
Thanks, I’ll need to look for them again.
They’re still around. You can even pick up conjured copies of them in Dalaran that last for a day. Primarily, they detailed the major events ranging from the War of the Ancients to the Frozen Throne. They were great for getting an in-game understanding of what brought us where we were today, without having to play or read through a bunch of extraneous outside material.
Nowadays, they’re less necessary, because anything that COULD be detailed in those books, the players have probably lived through firsthand.
They need to reintroduce more lore-books each expansion. In dungeons, raids and hidden locations around & about.
I always enjoyed the good read back in Vanilla through to Wrath, was very informative, intriguing and weaved me deeper and deeper into the lore.
