What happened to the gritty dark fantasy we once had?

No it’s entirely about the beards.

WoW’s playable “monster races” aren’t far off just playing a dragon girl in FFXIV.

Idk.

The MMO genre really only ever had one game worth playing anyway. And it was vanilla WoW.

The rest were pretty bad.

Have you seen those diabolical potato monsters in FFXIV?

More annoying than gnomes!
Greedier than goblins!
And filled with pure evil!

Indeed, lalas are the REAL monsters.

That barely anyone plays compared to the variants of elf we’ve got.

Earthen, I don’t see any really.

Also lol @ Dracthyr getting an option to hide their dragon forms.

So, basically another new kind of permanent elf.

I remember when Undead were extremely common, now they are probably less than 5% of the Horde.

(That’s why I played one, muahaha)

What?

Tauren are cool. Dont let the furrys coopt them. They didnt invent minotaurs.

The modern monster races are all deviant art rejects. But the old ones are cool.

Man, if Vanilla was the last time the game was good you wasted alot of time doing something you don’t like, without the features you need in order to enjoy it. I am truly sorry (actually, I am really not… I think it’s kinda funny honestly).

Every MMO should have a token pretty race and a token monster race.

I know the pretty one will always be more popular. But there are a lot of people like me who like being characters like Maokai from league of legends.

Youre right that every single race theyve released since TBC has been the opposite of what players ask for.

Except maybe vulpera…Im not a fan but you cant reallt deny that they are popular.

He should just go play Classic instead of complaining about Retail or whatever.

Or, just move on from WoW as a whole, if you hate it that much.

The game is going to continue to move forward and evolve, time stops for no one.

There’s a lot of games I’ve stopped playing because they’re not “for me” anymore, or I’ve simply grown up and tastes changed.

Nah man I switched to league of legends like everybody else.

Ive already played classic.

I want a new game that doesnt suck.

Heh, I play a few matches, and then I remember why I’d rather stick to WoW instead.

It’s not nearly as toxic, nothing will ever beat League at that.

They didn’t invent fox people or werewolves, either.

He really should avoid most games nowadays. But I have a sneaky suspicion he really doesn’t mean anything he’s saying, else he wouldn’t even be here. But it’s still fun to watch him so I hope he stays.

Dude there were comical poop quests since vanilla.

WoW was never “edgy” like people think

Just kinda sounds like a skill issue.

Also WoW can be pretty dang toxic.

Indeed they did not invent werewolves. Those are a fantasy staple.

They absolutely did invent vulpera tho. That design is pure furry. Its a very distinct (and ugly) artstyle.

There are cat humanoid races in RPGs NOT designed by furrys…like the ones from Elder Scrolls. And those are fine.

You can give a furry an easy home run like a dragon race and they still manage to screw it up…because furrys are just bad artists who dont deserve to be hired at any game studio.

Nah, League can be awful no matter what rank you’re at.

And champion select is just rock-paper-scissors, being forced to counterpick is half the game, and that’s boring to me.

At least in WoW, I can play my class/spec every match that I want to.

Can’t do that in League, you’ll get counterpicked and GG.

In League, you rarely ever get to play for “yourself”, it’s always a team affair.

And selfish players end up throwing games, for their own reasons.

Maybe they locked in a champ that was a poor choice for the team, just because they wanted to “get kills and have fun”.

Instead of picking a CC-heavy tank that’s easy to read for team play.

Good luck expecting randoms to work together in any capacity, lol.

Absolutely not.

Both Native American and Asian cultures (generally) have a lot of references to fox people.

Hell, depending on how deep you want to dig, you could even look at the Sionnach Sidhe and similar myths.

The best thing in League was playing ARAM and randoming Lux and just getting to play sniper.

Everything else I only put up with cause my ex loved that game.
