Why would it be assumed it was coming with ICC when Blizz explicitly stated it wasn’t coming with ICC?

They’re trying to save the ship but it’s too little too late. Classic is already gone. Crusade is already gone. Wrath will be 3/4 gone as well by the time RDF is put in.

They even said they had no plans to add it. While that doesnt mean never, it however does say they werent considering it.

They made a Blue post that said something like ‘We’re letting you know before launch we have no intention of ever including rdf in Wrath. So…plan accordingly.’
Translation: deal with it or gtfo.

We did want what these expansions, we do have phones but not for gaming, and those pro players found out they didnt have a job the next week for heroes of the storm.

I kept spamming on the forums that it was coming with ICC.
For one, I never take anything Blizz says at face value. They tell us what they think we need to know not what we want to know or think we should be entitled to know.
Second, you never say never when it comes to Blizzard. I just had always assumed it was coming out with the ICC patch because they never strictly said RDF was off the table for eternity. Its the end of the expansion and if they are going into Cata, holding off at Wrath or going into Cata with Wrath Era servers it made more sense for it to be there than not having it there.
Well apparently not everyone on the team was in favor of its removal and the guy calling the shots stepped down. So that could be one reason. Im of the opinion they were gonna go this way the whole time and they just dont bother explaining themselves to the subscribers because theyre damned if they do and damned if they dont.

The lady that said RDF was coming, looked annoyed. She looked annoyed that it was being added, annoyed that we the players were right, annoyed that she had to announce it, annoyed that she had to go against what the people early on said.
She shouldnt be in front of the camera ever again.

That is a fair point. I will say that I don’t think they had this planned out at all, but also that doesn’t mean much because they seem to do a lot of things without extensive planning. As far as them planning on adding it before Cataclysm at some point - I don’t know. There was a real tone that they might not even add it with Cataclysm the way they were talking about “community spirit” at the launch of Wrath.
I am glad it is finally coming even though I feel like it’s a bit late to have as much of an impact.
