Why has one of the Horde’s coolest and most powerful leaders been sidelined for nearly two expansions? Is she just sitting atop her pyramid taking in the scenery… doing yoga… painting?
She’s an expansion NPC, not a horde leader?
She’s the queen of the zandalari, and the zandalari are allied to the horde, so…
Probably rebuilding Zandalar after all the shenanigans Zul and the Alliance pulled during BFA.
I’m hoping we see her show up for the Darkspear Heritage Quest and that she’s been bringing the other Troll kingdoms under her rule. Would be dope to see a fully unified Troll nation - Gurubashi, Drakkari (what few are left), Amani, Farraki (lols not many left either), as well as the various smaller tribes - all under the Zandalari banner.
Allied races aren’t really part of the faction. Their lore doesn’t matter, and their leaders don’t matter.
Like, real quick, who’s the leader of the lightforged draenei? Turalyon or something? Yeah, he’s essentially a non-character too.
There isn’t really enough space in the story to accommodate all these characters, so they just sit around doing nothing. Plus, now that factions basically don’t matter anymore, there’s no point into making factions a part of the story.
She’s also a member of the Horde Council. Though, Azreluna’s comment is a good example: Talanji has been so utterly neglected by the writers that players aren’t even aware she’s a faction leader.
That’s a common misconception, but it’s just not true.
Allied Race is just WoW fancy fantasy speech for “unlockable Race”.
They are all part of their factions. Lore-wise they aren’t any different from the Base Races. The only difference is gameplay. You need to unlock Allied Races, you don’t need to unlock base Races.
I mean I’m not even sure who’s in charge of the orcs these days. And Mag’har? Do they get their own leader?
Their leader is Geya’rah.
Captain Fareeya or something like that. She gives you the heritage armor.
You mean the dude literally sitting on stormwinds throne while Anduin is off being moody? He still matters.
This is the only correct thing you’ve said. There are so many racial leaders that including them all is just a writing nightmare so some have to take the sidelines.
Allied races leaders could really use some spotlights. We haven’t even seen Gey’arah (or how ever it’s spelt) since BFA and if I remember right she is AU genderbent thrall.
“We’d rather you just not play Horde.” - Blizzard
Void Elf leader is on the cover art for future expansions.
Okay, I’ve never heard of Captain Fareeya. Obviously, I didn’t do the heritage armor quest.
There’s no point to the allied races even having faction leaders at this point, though. Back in Classic, they made sense; they were the NPC in charge of the town for each race. (Well, except for Fordragon / Prestor, I suppose.)
But what the hell good is a “faction leader” that just gives you a fancy set of armor?
Goblins are an allied race?
Man how badly our leaders have fallen when she’s considered one of the most powerful
You might be playing a different game…
She was also involved in the Argus story line and recruitment quest.
And she deserves to do more. All the allied race leaders do. Their all cool characters.
Think before you ask for something.
Do you really want Talanji to be in the spotlight…when this happens for Horde leaders it usually means they’ll end up being killed off somehow.
-Looks at BfA-
-Looks at the Battle of Dazar’alor-
She inherited the Zandalari Empire and has a huuuuge mess to clean up. Safe to say she’s busy leading her nation and rebuilding from several devastating losses.
I was appalled at the attitude Sylvanas gave her at her coronation in the Zandalari race unlock. I can’t imagine Talanji wanting to spend a great deal of time with her in Orgrimmar, although those tensions should be gone now along with Sylvanas. She has a far more beautiful palace of her own with her own land and people to manage so unless she has a specific reason to seek the help of the Horde or vice versa, I don’t expect to see her in the story. I imagine she might have some beats in the coming xpacs, though, since the Void is going to be the sort of world-ending threat that requires all hands on deck.
