What happened to stealth?

Vanish has been broken for literally a decade and a half.

What happened to stealth? Nothing. You need to be at least revered with all the races in your faction, explore the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Solo all faction bosses and dungeons
I think that is it. Same as its always been.

I have noticed this also. But not just when I have my bodyguard. I will click my prowl ability, and then not long after I am visible again, and I haven’t bumped into any mobs, I have attacked any mob
I thought I was losing my mind there for awhile. Glad to see it isn’t just me.

This. I’m trying to do Mechagon at the moment and keep losing stealth (no bodyguard active) and getting a thousand mobs trailing me across the island.

Have not had any FD issues. And I FD a lot. I run through everything, FD. Then run thru more stuff. FD. etc etc

edit. Now invisibility
my mage has the 5min c/d and between dumb and dumber (water elemental and bodyguard) its half and half that it works.

I agree with Sarinoth. The follower properties for them in Legion were perfect, and never had these issues. So either they need to not be detected at all when you are not in combat or something.

Also I have similar problems with stealth WITHOUT a follower on the Mechagon island. I can vanish, with no debuffs, and NPC’s will still pull me out of stealth from some distance. :frowning:

(for some reason it logged me into my Monk to post this, but rest assured, my main since Vanilla is an Outlaw Rogue (and before that, Combat Rogue).

Hmmmmmmm seeing the hotfix notes, it looks like it WASN’T the followers exclusively, a lot of it was new Heart of Azeroth powers that were knocking people out of stealth even when you didn’t actively use it. Like, one was a heal of some kind that affects everyone around you, and it was destealthing people.

That seems to track a lot more than it exclusively being a follower thing. I’ll have to see if I notice an improvement.

Seeing how stealth is mentioned quite a bit there in the hotfixes.

What I did not see in the hotfixes and I still experienced in-game was feigning death still being an issue while with a bodyguard. Not as annoying as the stealth issues, but still odd considering I have seen the bodyguards feign death at certain times and not others.

Yeah, I was thinking more as it applies to my Rogue. Feign Death has always been a hot mess diceroll of whether mobs were going to “believe” it or not. Having a “Play Dead” for our pets helped somewhat, but yeah, if the follower could feign too so I could get out of combat that’d be great.

Mechagon and Nazjatar are both the zones of “What the Frick Am I Even In Combat With, Though: The Game”

You are fighting the evil critters of the world that were doing evil things like living in their habitat.

Yep. It’s just Stealthfinder part 1. Do you guys not have invisibility potions?

In what way has it been forced? You can complete the three dailies and world quests without a bodyguard. None of the bodyguard specific things offer any reputation, so they’re irrelevant if you’re just trying to get flying. I guess the storyline depends on it a little, but even that is a fairly light dependence. On the whole it’s optional.

My stealth has been dropping randomly also, I always have a bodyguard with me but it does happen both near mobs and away from mobs.

Yes, the storyline is dependent on their progress. I guess nothing is forced on me if all I want to do with WoW is run around the starting zone forever, but if I want to engage in even the minimal way of following the storyline then yes, it is required.

It’s not just in Nazjatar. It’s game-wide in 8.2. I had stealth broken for no reason, where it never ever would have been broken before, in a low mythic key this week.

Small chance it was just terrible luck but I don’t think so. It was egregious.

Word-of-the-day toilet paper?

I have noticed some improvements since the latest hotfixes, but not what I would call a pre-8.2 “normal”.

Sorry for the big word, I meant to say “things bad me no like” and then laugh at my own fart while turning up the volume on the Honey Boo-Boo show.

Can Ugg bring fire?

You can run around the whole zone without them. The only thing they gate is that ‘earn 15000 experience’ or whatever. Not needed to do dailies and WQs.

If you want to follow the storyline, yeah, you have to do the quest. But if you’re interested in the story, I would think you’d voluntarily do whatever it takes to follow the story. If you want to follow the story, but don’t really want to do even a minimal effort to do so, are you really that interested? I doubt it. Doesn’t even sound like you want to play the game in that instance.

Pure troll bait.
