What happened to Savage / Hateful Gladiator weapons?

I’m pretty sure this is how OG Wrath was, but I’m curious what peoples thoughts are for this missing gear. It clearly exists in the database, but there is no way to obtain them. It’s strange because this forces PVP players to do PVE to get a starting weapon to do PVP to even have a hope of competing in arena to get Deadly Gladiator weapon.

They were in the original’s Beta, but never made it to live.

Based on all the existing itemization it would make a lot of sense to be able to buy Savage Gladiator weapons for honor only with no arena rating for 65k honor or so. Then Hateful Gladiator weapons might be half honor and half arena points for 1400-1500 arena rating.

As it stands there is no gear progression for obtaining PVP weapons. :man_shrugging:

Just to screw us PvP only players over to start the expansion it seems. Also even if you get rating to have a Deadly weapon they aren’t nearly as good as the raid stuff.

Deadly Gladiator dagger has the same damage and stats and the Anarchy dagger from Kel Thuzad, but with resilience instead of some other stat. They are pretty comparable ilvl 213 stuff. It doesn’t get that wildly different until ICC 25 man heroic weapons which become unfair.

But oh well. I think next season you can get Deadly Gladiator weapons for honor and then need arena rating and points for Furious Gladiator. Just feels weird to be forced into this PVE RNG just to do PVP.

I was looking at 2H stuff. Betrayer of Humanity is 223 DPS and Deadly is 203 DPS. Seems like quite a discrepancy. According to Eighty Upgrades the Blacksmithing weapon is better than Deadly…

That’s weird for two handers. I wonder why those would be different than these.

That’s only KT drops, which are basically a tier higher than the rest of Naxx (ilvl 226 vs 213), but the Deadly stuff would compare to anything else in Naxx, I guess. Still unfortunate if you’re not into PvE, though.

Ah I see. Higher ilvl gear. :+1:

Yeah. The final bosses in the main tier raids pretty much always have higher ilvl gear than the rest (besides tier pieces). Prince Malchazaar in Karazhan dropped ilvl 125 while the rest of the bosses dropped 115, for example.
