Thatās one of the main reasons players hated him so much in the end, lol. And thatās probably also the reason he hasnāt shown up after his death. Quietly sweeping his ashes under the rug is imo the best thing the writers couldāve done with him at that point.

Nah, I liked him. A relentlessly angry jerk who had contempt for basically everyone and gladly let them know. It was always funny to me because he was just so ridiculous. We just donāt get characters like him in WoW.

iirc someone says something to sylvanus during SoD or something revealing Nathanos is dead and her reaction tells us that she wasnāt even aware. It may be in part why she even turned on the jailer, because he withheld this information from her as well as where his soul must be. It is one of the lingering mysteries. Presumably the undead go to the maw by default, and since tyrande condemned her to scour the maw for souls she doomed to there it is likely we will find out when she inevitably re-appears in midnight.

We never got a definitive answer.
Forgotten about - because Horde.
The devs arenāt interested in Horde characters once theyāve killed them off.
Heāll eventually come back for a 5 second quest or cutscene where he kneels down and cries and begs for forgiveness and says the Alliance, and the Devs by name, are superior.
The writing is slop. The Alliance bias is slop.

Iāve seen this idea repeated a million times, but I have no idea where it came from. No one has ever been able to explain. It just doesnāt seem like itās based on anything to me.
More likely a victim of Shadowlands being cut short because of all the whining and crying from the anti Shadowlands echo chamber. Now those folks are blaming the writers for a plug that they actually wanted pulled.
