What happened to frost dk?

Popped all my cool downs with obliterate crit and hit elite target dummy for 1.4k (2h) but then I go unholy and just smash festering strike and it hits for 1.4k. No cool downs no procs. Frost obliterate dmg needs to increase by like 80% this is so dumb

Someone accidentally hit K instead of H and therefore nerfed DK instead of DH :frowning:

It’s what happens when you’re front and center. You get more attention and bam bottom of the pack.

Unholy and Sub were skulking in the shadows and now they’re top dogs.

Frost is solid right now.
Its Unholy that is the outlier though.

Looking like a top spec in both single target and AOE as it stands right now.

I’m sure that wont last haha

Oh yeah Unholy is really good at being really good until actual content happens. They will 100% get hit with a hard nerf bat before any real raiding starts up.

I think its more that other classes will rise up and Unholy will settle in.

They are very good right now with no power, but I don’t feel like there is any specific legendary or soulbind stuff coming that helps them as much as others.

I don’t really know a lot about the spec though, truthfully.

I would say frost feels good now but i dont think its actually preforming as well as unholy is. Given how difficult torghast is for me as Frost, im actually debating swapping into unholy next time gate release…just so i can progress in this stupid xpac…

OP didnt have rank 2 obliterate or killing machine yet which are huge increases for Obliterate.

Why does UH have to be nerfed? Why is it okay for Casters to be 20% better than all melee for a whole xpac but dk can never be good.

Last couple of dungeons with an unholy, their damage was easily 3k with only a few ilvl differences from mine.

Mine has been steady 1.2K on Recount at ilvl 154. And I’m talking single target damage. I think I’ll be on par with unholy once I get enough ilvls. Taking razorice on my 2h helped only minimally.

I’m watching the meters constantly in the open world and I’ll see mages, locks, hunters hitting for 5K. I inspect their gear only to find minor differences.

I wish the stupid campaign set gear wasn’t locked behind so much progression. I know I can upgrade it, but it’s like the cost to upgrade vs. finding gear via dungeons/raids isn’t worth it.

Torghast gives me a lot of fun damage modifiers that I’d love to see in the open world…maybe not break the game, but maybe a bonus that can I take with me. I’ll even take the 3% haste anima.

This expansion is really shaping up to be a damage limited to content type…

I mean Unholy DKs do not really have access to their legendaries yet. However, I do think they gain less from conduits and legendaries then other classes.

There is also the fact that Unholy DKs are right now all stacking Mastery but that will stop being as powerful REALLY early into the raid tier (its almost possible to hit that point now if you get lucky and we are going to gain about 35 item levels). Once Masters falls off the gains from the other secondaries do not keep up and it will swiftly fall in line (usually behind some mage spec).

Unholy is overtuned, just wait for the nerf and frost will be competitive

fify

Right now, Frost is stat dependent to be even competitive right now. Many people play Unholy right now because Frost got hit pretty hard with nerfs back in October.

No amount of stats will ever compensate for the nerfs they’ve done to Frost: lost 2 GCDs worth during pillar as well as increasing its CD to 1 minute along with Obliterate base damage nerf as well as MotFW nerf.

It hits pretty hard prior to the nerfs but they’ve gone too far to the nerfing for this one. Unholy is fine right now. They just need to adjust and shift some power for unholy like maybe…

… Fixing Withered Ground with Death’s Due Defile?

Unholy sucks… we def don’t need a nerf…

I do have a maxed death knight and I didn’t ask for a nerf im asking why frost hits like a baby Frost is my favorite spec hands down but I cam do everything better with unholy than frost
