It was such a cool spec in legion (those fire portals absolutely melted people) and now it’s just… so boring. It’s like a Walmart fire mage

Seriously tho, Bane of Havoc should be a pve talent imo, it would be so cool in M+ to see huge waves of chaos bolts flying around
That would truly embrace the chaotic nature of destruction
Plus destruction feels like it’s missing a button to me. Idk why but the rotation feels like there’s not quite enough going on

How do you even know what’s going on? I’m blinded. 
The only thing I liked about destruction in legion was the portals. Getting a red portal felt really good even though it was RNG. Definitely prefer pre-legion destro or pre-wod for that matter.

The most interesting version of Destro remains the MoP-era variant. Original Fire and Brimstone and baseline Shadowburn sniping was brilliant gameplay-wise and highly dynamic compared more modern iterations.
I’ve mained warlock this patch so far 10/11N. I know it’s well under demo dps but I can’t give up my green fire. I’ve gotten the 2 piece set and have been able to stay middle of the pack now but I read that it’s doing very well with the 4 piece.
In terms of playing the spec, I definitely don’t want more buttons to press but his generator just feels so weak like it shoots pebbles and the only meaningful dps comes around much less frequently, his chaos bolt and Infernal. The legendaries and 2 piece set do start to smooth out the rotation quite a bit but without them it seems very clunky and slow. Almost as if the devs got the spec playing as it was meant to be but then locked it behind the legendaries and 2 piece set bonus. Once you get the 4 piece it’s icing on the cake and your dps is gonna skyrocket with more infernals.
