Whatever happened to this feature? The Horde can effectively blacklist the only 2 bg’s that they will statistically lose because they’re a separate queue (AV and IoC). Hell they could even queue merc mode so that ain’t even an issue I guess. Yet as Alliance, I can’t blacklist some of the standard bg’s that we often lose or that just aren’t fun to me? Why was this feature removed?
Yes, it was removed when they split the q’s for bgs and epic bgs.
Blizz hates PvP now. That’s why you have to gear through very time consuming pve content just to be somewhat competitive. Remember the time pve folks freaked out they had to do a single bg for their legendary? Of course they have been completely silent on this all exp.
Which sucks since effectively I never get queued up for epic bgs (while leveling at least). Can’t even boycott the normal bgs like Horde boycott AV/IoC since Horde can just queue as mercs.
I would blacklist the heck out of seething shore, this BG was a mistake.
They thought they solved the issue when they split the BG queues and dumped Strand.
But then they added Ashran so…
They split the queues which reduced the total number of players queueing. Blacklisting would have compounded the change significantly increasing the time to get into battlegrounds.
I mean, the time is compounded anyways because if I get a BG I don’t want I’m going to /afk and get deserter
I don’t condone this action however I will concede that the response was funny.
I find it humorous that the Horde would even want AV blacklisted since it was revamped to favor the Horde over the Alliance. IoC seems to come down to whoever whoever has the most healers (and to a lesser extent the smarter bursty dps to kill the other side’s healers) for the initial hangar fight, though you can make arguments over areas the gunship can target, I really don’t think it’s that bad of a map.
I personally like WG, I just wish more people on the Alliance side would whine less and do a better job at learning what to do.
The only map I personally hate and think needs to be either removed or revamped is Ashran. IMHO, the toys and super buffs need to be removed. Keep Rockboi and the Tree if you want. The lesser NPC’s aren’t that bad. But the rest really should go. Allowing the Horde to go from Darkwood to Ogre to Alliance Mage to Tremblade in a nearly uncontestable way is absolutely ridiculous. The only strategy the Alliance has is to either rush the Horde at Darkwood, or blitz down the Horde’s mage and play a smart war of attrition. Both are VERY easy to counter.
Long held beliefs are hard to break. Did you know they fixed Oculus? People still deuce as soon as they zone in though.
No one queues for that while leveling. The xp is too low to make the queuetime worth it.
They split it so Horde could in theory dodge the queues for things they’d lose (not that they really do anymore) and get faster queues since Alliance were forced to join losing BGs (which is 90% of Alliance queues without a group).
It’s true tho. The Horde has a relatively straight shot at Dun Baldur while the Alliance has to zig zag all over the map to get to Frostwolf Keep. It’s a lot easier for the Horde to interdict the Alliance at Iceblood Tower than it is for the Alliance to do the reverse virtually anywhere on the map. And then there’s the matter of the more recently added damage sponge tower and bunker minibosses.
And yes, I was very happy to finally get the last transmog piece I needed from Occulus and have that instance removed from the All The Things listing.
This isn’t something that’s exclusive to any faction lol
The Horde haven’t BL’ed AV/IoC in nearly three years. It’s actually the Alliance who forgot how to win AV.
The only major change to AV in the last five years was raising SH GY, forcing the Horde to go down and up the hill in front of Belinda.
Seems like a good money chasing bad situation.
They have popular BG’s and unpopular ones. Instead of accepting or fixing the issue they design systems to encourage us to play BG’s we don’t like.
To a certain extent I can see not wanting things to devolve to the one or two META BG’s for grinding, but get a bonus for doing things you don’t want to?
Yeah. I guess the addition of tower bosses and the UI change encouraging the PVP ‘tourists’ to summon the field of strife bosses aren’t major changes. Trying to force longer matches that invariably favor the Horde because of the IBT bottleneck I mentioned earlier.
You know Alliance have two areas to bottleneck the Horde, but y’all rather play the zerg game. Alliance lose bgs more because their pool of players who pvp is much smaller than the Horde’s.
