went from both teams rushing boss to autistic 30 minute tdm in mid… why? it went from the best epic bg to being the same garbage as wintergrasp
I don’t know about you but I’d call a 30 minute slugfest in mid the “best epic bg.”
Because you actually PvP. Wow. Imagine that. PvP in… the… PvP mode?
Now if only they would buff Drek’thar and Vandarr so they could hold their own against a boss rush.
Bad take. Ashran is fun as hell and I’m so glad people are stomping backdoor pushes, sniping Frag NPCs and forcing the game into a massive 40v40 deathmatch.
Ashran is overwhelmingly my favorite Epic BG.
OP upset that PvP has PvP now.
I’ve found that people who frown upon game modes like ashran are those looking for a quick honor farm at the expense of actual pvp. That and you can still rush the boss I just backdoor vol and kill him alone while no one is looking all the time. It’s just people are fully aware of what you are trying to do if you don’t go roc and counter accordingly
if u want that garbage backdoor pve garbage… go do a raid boss.
i like pvp when i sign up for pvp.
im glad we dont see those 3 min long garbage gamer backdoor games any more.
You have to the only rogue in the game that would consider Ashran road teamfights as good pvp,
Tbf I’m playing Outlaw so-
A boss rush makes it the best epic?
He’s that guy always yelling “BACKDOOR” before the start.
Because more people started grabbing scrolls and generally spottng and responding to backdoors.
Walking past each other and winning or losing in <4 minutes doesn’t make it a good bg. Alterac Valley also kind of suffers from this.
i queued some epics on my dh alt to gear up. Playing melee in epics feels so bad
I basically had to wait for my blur to come off cd before i could even attempt to do damage.
I wish they’d buff the bosses in Ashran and AV so there actually would be forced long PvP turtle matches.
bdk i sbetter then fdk rn but im looking at uhdk for tom patch >.>
Because backdoor is both predictable and easy to counter. Then the team that failed to back door usually loses slowly, painfully. This can even lead to a stronger team losing to a weaker one. People prioritize victory and actual PVP combat over honor gain efficiency. Especially given that most players’ mains no longer need honor. Maybe play the BG as it was intended to be played. pvp > pve
Players with the backdoor gogo attitude tend to ruin the game for the rest of their team so they often get ignored. You know when it does fail they will be one of the first to bail, leaving their team to a to deal with the aftermath. The average group is actually pretty bad about doing a backdoor attempt even if they do not meet a lot of enemy resistance.
WG is a much worse balancing nightmare and should have met the same fate as strand of the ancients.
We had a horde team that tried backdoor like 3 times, then moved to the front and kept pressure on us the entire game. They were super aggressive and never stopped pushing and I thought they were going to kill Trem a few times but we managed to push them out. It was actually the most fun I’ve had in Ashran in a long time because it was non-standard af. It was close at the end but we won thanks to a few commandos who got to their mage.
Playing melee in epics feels so bad
When I am on my rogue or feral I go to the less dense areas and fight wanderers/stragglers.
Main road fights are often too laggy and AOE-crazy for me to really get anything meaningful done. IoC hangar fight, for example. So much lag and AOE that even trying to stunlock people or setup kills is tough because you try to hit a button and it takes several seconds or they aren’t even in range anymore.
I don’t think dk is that bad of a melee in epics. I just play the talents that modify death grip with hhtd addon and just grip healers or locks cause locks pump.
