Where have all the good raiders gone?
Long time passing.
Where have all the good raiders gone?
Long time ago.
Where have all the good raiders gone?
Gone to play other games, every one.
Oh, When will you ever learn?
Oh, When will you ever learn?
People relying on addons and macros does not mean they are good. I’ve seen someone’s performance nosedive after the patch breaking his stuffs.
They became grandpas and the new generation are filled with players that want a quick fix. Thats why you see pity tiers, casino vaults and loots caves with no lockouts.
BUT BUT FREE GEARR /faceplam
Likely moved on.
Raiding properly is a decent commit for anyone’s leisure time.
That’s a really round-about way of saying he’s bad. Pushing a button isn’t much of a skill, but it is a skill. Neglecting your skills with the core game so that you can get better with a third party add-on reflects poorly on your own judgement.
…unless you’re playing a class / spec Blizzard expects mod usage with.
My guy just didn’t update his addon. It’s not really poor judgement to focus on an addon that’s constantly updated during the PTR phase so there’s not even day 1 patch downtime going on.
If the lack of a single add on makes the person unable- per your own statement- unable to push a button, what does that say?
I mean to be fair he’s not wrong for this tier. Was going to be on broodkeeper prog this tier before I stopped and all the bosses are time commitment tests. How many bodies can you throw at it before it eventually falls. Blizz nerf cadence also enforces this due to how often they gut the raid after race to world first is over. Pretty much every boss is just send it until people stop standing in bad.
That’s literally all raiding ever was. Only difference is that now you have to wait for 19 other players to perfectly learn a coordinated dance while in the “good olde days” you were hoping the 39 other people in your raid weren’t all on dial up so they could keep spamming Frostbolt.
The current Mythic formula would work great in a 10man format but for 20man groups its just annoyingly hard and feels like a waste of time.
Athene is still around… probably… and so is Kungen.
bring back 40man raiding.
Guy legit looks like Charles Manson now.
Again, that they’re used to looking for a different cue. That’s all it is. Give them a week to adjust in the event that the addon were permanently disabled or something and it’d be fine.
No? Raids have gotten harder over time.
Weird take man
It’s so easy that you’ve cleared 6 of 8 heroic bosses with no Mythic progress…
You’ve killed a heroic boss. What exactly do you know about how to assess the quality of play?
In their own guilds, raiding.
Away from the scrubs, like us.
I think I personally would consider Legion to be the dividing point between modern and not-modern raiding. Legion made a lot of PvE changes to make the game look more like the PvE landscape we see today.
As a matter of objective fact, raids in the very old expansions (Classic, BC, WotLK) are significantly easier than modern raids. As a good example, you can look up on sites like WoWProgress the ratio of groups who start a particular raid tier vs. how many finish that raid tier. In modern raids, what you typically see is what you expect. A lot of guilds start a raid tier and then you see fewer and fewer guilds beating every subsequent boss until only a small fraction of the original collection of guilds are able to finish the season with Cutting Edge. Compare that to the end game raids on the various Classic servers and what you see is nearly 100% of groups who start a given raid will finish that raid.
And Blizzard has even directly said that the community has gotten better at playing the game over time. You can blame addons for this phenomenon, and for sure addons have gotten more sophisticated, but it’s more due to the fact that the community is a lot better at acquiring, analyzing, and disseminating information today than it was 15 years ago. The average Joe Schome player has much easier access to high quality guides/strategies and tools to analyze and improve their own play and that’s even before we talk about in-game addons. As a result, Blizzard has been in a constant arms race with the playerbase. What was considered hard 15 years ago is trivial today, even without addons. So Blizzard has had to steadily ramp up the difficulty of raids as time went on in response to the growing skill level of the playerbase.
We are all playing mythic + because we are tired of carrying the other half of the raid.
Interesting, yeah ok I can understand that. I did like one or 2 legion raids with a friend but that was so long ago idr much of them. Voti isn’t hard if you put in the work to watch 3m videos explaining the fight, dbm makes it even easier yeah. One issue I saw was guild I joined, they didn’t put in the work for gear so we couldn’t drop H-terros due to dps check. I run with a friend’s guild and no prob cause they put effort into it. I feel like ppl are getting what they put in. I ground out my m+/vault to raise my dps even tho M+ isn’t the most fun at times. Tbh a lot of the forum posters seem lazy but that might just be me idk.(not directed at anyone here)
He does back to back LFRs. So yea raiding is easy for him.
