Just curious if anyone is using an RTX card, and if so, where did you get it/how much did you pay? I’m still rocking a 2090 due to the shortages.
I have RTX 3050
It’s a laptop though
GTX 970.
God damn this card is from 2014, it feels like just 2 years ago this was a great card.
Good luck on your RTX search. I’ve been an nVidia fan forever but my next card will probably be AMD.
RTX 3080 here.
EYA: oh, sorry, didn’t add the info.
My SO was going to build me one, but got sick of the shortage. So, one day when I had gone to the kitchen and was out of the room, he bought an entire pre-built from Amazon.
2060 super founders edition! and got it for msrp $399
befor this i was using a 750 ti
GTX 1070. It’s four years old (I think?), and I have no complaints.
I managed to snipe a 6900xt for 4k in the future. 3080/3090 is still impossible to come by.
I use a eGPU, though I forget which card AMD Radeon … somthing…
3060ti up from a 1070ti that I had for about four years.
5.5/6. Came out mid 2016.
Gigabyte RX 580 8 gig. Hopefully until the prices of gpus come down to a merciful level and AMD and Nvidia stop trying to pacify us with “new” garbage that’s worse than gpus that are 6+ years old.
3070, paid MSRP for founder’s edition. There’s one Best Buy the next city over that does drops every so often. They’ll announce it on their site and I’m sure there’s other resources that will call it out for you. I camped out with a friend (camped meaning sat in really uncomfy chairs and tried to eventually curl up and sleep… shoulda brought an actual raised cot and / or tent lol) at about 7 or 8 pm just before the store was closing the night before, and we were something like 10-12th in line. Line ended up wrapping around the building. They had a lot of cards, there’s usually estimates online of how many they’re getting. MOST people are after the 3080, so 3070 was easy to get. I think I was the first person in line who asked for one.
They hand out tickets in the morning before open. Most people are cordial and will save your spot if you just wanna run to your car for something (couple of us even walked to a walgreens and back at one point), didn’t really have any problems, although further back in the line sometimes you hear about people cutting and stuff. The longer you’re there the more time you have to comfortable with the people in your part of the line so that probably helps.
Using it with a gigabyte m27q I think is the model, 170fps monitor with pretty good balanced panel, pretty much maxed with a little bit of res. upscaling, usually 100-170fps no problem in classic TBC with a Ryzen 3800xt.
P.S. these are store-specific events, it’s usually up to local management whether they want to work with nvidia or whoever to put on these release events when they get shipments, not all stores will do them. My friend had just been to one of the release events like a month or few weeks before, so you should have a chance if there’s one nearby every so often to make it.
1660ti here, has no issues playing the game or mining when Im not. Built my rig pre-pandemic and pre-30xx card announcement, so I can happily sit and wait out this ridiculous situation we are having through the pandemic.
Radeon 6800xt. I gave up on trying for an Nvidia card and built an amd rig w/card as result
Yeah, I looked up my PC’s purchase date; July 2016. It came with an i7-6700 4GHz CPU, an SSD, 16G ram and the Nvidia card…and still screams. Not bad for a 5+ year old system.
RTX 3070 OC’d 17%.
Oddly specific, I have never witnessed anyone talking about their OC in %'s. Wonder what mine will math out at, though I have 4 different OC profiles in Afterburner.
2013 Alienware laptop is my main playing device. GeForce 650M
I have a desktop made from hand me down parts from some of the best humans ever. That one is GTX 970.
I don’t honestly have any issues. I am not someone who has to have all the bells and whistles of the latest tech though. I just need the game to run.
My pc died. One I’m getting will have a 3070
I want to see how the rtx cards handle streams. My old 1080 struggled a bit.
Sadly I have to go pre-built since getting a new card is a bear.
I have a 1650 Super, and I won’t tell you what I had to pay for it. I needed a card and at the time there just weren’t any options, so I went on ebay and did what I had to do.
