What future do we see for Xal'atath?

Given the nature of this being and her fated outcome as a boss, which do we think will be one of 4 possible outcomes for this creature?

  1. As a final boss, she transforms into some hideous or grotesque shape of a Void creature that a raid defeats and we celebrate as Usual.
  1. She is re-imprisoned back within the dagger she was originally from. Considering how the dagger disappeared during the events of N’zoth, it could just be an event that leads to the dagger being re-acquired and then used to undo her form.
  1. She gets defeated in her natural form with the Dark Heart intact and then claimed by Iridikron who used her as a tool and then becomes as all powerful as Galakrond hence the next addon challenge as a boss.
  1. Azeroth herself becomes involved and banishes Xalatath in some manner or form or resists her. She becomes weak or loses all power and is then just another being trapped in a mortal body. No power over the void or any other force.

Given the cliche manner of bosses as usual i doubt she will turn over a new leaf and suddenly be seen as a good force with the intent to save Azeroth, just in a darker manner like Illidan.

Or she could pull a card like raven from the teen titans and just be a tool/keystone to allow the Void lords into our world. Her death triggers such and boom: Hour of Twilight is at hand.

I am guessing none of the above.

I am pretty sure this is her « infinity war » moment and she wins by killing the last titan at the end of the world soul saga.

Then the next trilogy is a Light vs Void saga where she get her rear end kicked

The whole “brought down to normal” thing would be kind of funny.

Your Teen Titans adjacent idea seems… interesting. I could see them going with that.

She tries to purify Illidan’s scars with void energy but he shouts “I am my scars!” And disenchants her with eye beams.

I’m gonna throw my hat into the “Void it all” end for her. She’s made it her thing to “make her own fate”, so I wouldn’t put it past her to try and screw over the void lords as well as everyone else. Though not before taking her swing at the Titans.

I think she’ll form an 80s goth band with a tentacle monster on drums.
