So It’s been a while now, most of us probably have at least one 60 on classic. What do you like about classic that you wish would be incorporated into retail?
For me It’s things like class quests, spell ranks, talent points, and a little bit more difficulty to the game (not that classic is so hard) but it’s definitely more satisfying / rewarding to level up a character in my personal opinion, I miss no XP in BGs, having to actually travel on foot places and encountering other players all the time, people inviting each other to help quest and talking to each other instead of just soloing everything, people buffing and helping each other.
I just am really enjoying a lot of aspects that slowly got chipped away / lost in retail.
I also really hate that a lot of class flavor was taken away from classes in some attempt to “balance” them all better. Warlocks losing their infernal AND doom guard was one of the biggest tragedies of WoW’s lifetime.
What are some things you wish retail incorporated from its older days?

Nothing at all. Except maybe crafting specializations. Otherwise nothing. The past can stay in the past.

I thought Legion would be a return. But they threw that right out the window and into the garbage bin after the expansion ended.

Ah, crafting specializations were truly something great. Making every profession feel unique and tiered uniqueness even within each profession. Truly a great system.
I mean, for anyone who was actually interested in classic, I’m not wrong. 
Ugh, me too. Legion class fantasy was so superb! Even though some of the quests and stuff were kind of copy pastes’s of other classes, it was MILES better than anything we’d had since vanilla more or less.
Made me cry.
I mean, retail WoW is probably the most boring I’ve ever seen it in all its history tbh, so can’t really blame you for that. Classic definitely has humps that get people stuck too, though.
Yeah, doing my infernal on my lock now and probably doomguard. It’s just so fun traveling around to distant places, hunting rare drops, etc.

The only thing I would like to see is professions mattering again.
That’s not even a Classic thing, really, but a system wide thing.
Nothing else in Classic is really appealing otherwise. I’ve played it for nostalgia, not because I felt going backwards in time 15 years was what this game needed.

No mounts, no pets, no gear, no gold. Just a brand new beginning.
What I hate most about Classic WoW is that it likely killed any hopes of ever getting WoW2.

We’ll never get a WoW 2.
They’ll continue updating the game graphically, and its systems as time goes on.

I mean, I’ve only played Classic since it released, and my max toon is lvl 30. Maybe 2 people in my guild on Classic have 60’s and they have been around a while. I rarely see 60’s running around either.
I’m pretty sure you are way overestimating this.

Hmmmm. Well let’s see. Much less time gating, a more coherent and cohesive story. Classes that have more flavor, and flexible spec-umm-I guess I’m trying to say customizability of spec. Some of the class quests really helped the lore building and fleshing out the class identity. No “AP” grind gimmick. The classes abilities tied to the character and not the gear. Probably the big ones. Oh and actual useful and meaningful professions.

Yeah, I was hoping that would continue too. I really loved the idea of the Order Halls. I levelled classes I otherwise might not have ever played. In fact, I’m levelling other classes now just so I can see the Order Halls I didn’t see in Legion.
