Yup! That’s why I think it’s a great way to start embracing flight again.
Sounds terrible. If you haven’t noticed they already have a version on that on mechagon and it is very annoying. I want to be able to relax when I play this game not rush around trying to get out of range.
Flight wouldn’t be so bad if there was actually a danger in using it. If they designed content around it (including threats while flying) I doubt they would have ever bothered with Pathfinder.
But that’s boring! I want flying to feel like a part of the world again. I used to get shot down over parts of Ogri’la all the time. And I have no idea how many times I’d forget and fly over the Horde base in Nagrand, only to get shot down and have to sprint for dear life. It was fun as hell!
Not every bit of this game has to be about escape from things or dodging or fighting things. We already get enough of that on the ground.
Sure. But I don’t think people are asking for every aspect of flying to be a minefield. Just certain/specific areas based on it being relevant to the content.
My friend you are asking them to put effort.
Now go sit in that corner doing dailies for 50 rep
I didn’t say every bit had to be.
This! ^
I am too busy doing legendary pet battles, getting rare drops, and killing rares in general for 100…250…350+ rep.
You really want to make me feel bad because I don’t do pet battles don’t you?
Garrosh evil? No. THIS. THIS is pure evil
We only get 2-3 months of flying. If you think flying is boring just keep on playing on the ground where you get that all the time.
I plan to be flying past August.
Huh?
It will depend on whether next patch they let us.
We only were able to fly in current content for a few months last expansion, any reason it would be different this expansion ?
In any case, if blizzard did this type of thing it would be seen as another example of their war on flying and it just might be the final straw for a lot of people. To wait 9-10 months for flying and then to have flying ruined by this just wouldn’t appeal to a lot of people. And you know it would the new area they would do this to right ?
And then we would go back to no flying in the next area again - which has been the pattern. So effectively we would have no flying and this bastardized version of flying to please the same group of people.
No thanks.
I would say there are already a bunch of noticeable differences between flight (and its unlocking) this expansion and last.
Would not be. Use a ground mount with WM on if you want “danger”.
Would be if it wasn’t everywhere and just helped to integrate flying creatures and things into the game!
Why is needing to fly up to a high up ledge or floating island special though? In that scenario flying is just a means of transportation.
They could easily have a warp portal like there was in WOD to get to Khadgars Ley-line tower, they could have an elevator lift system like in thunder bluff or the old thousand needles, there could be ramps.
I know people like flying, but like other posters have said, maybe they can actually do something interesting with it, that the game currently doesn’t offer. Some actual “flying gameplay”, as opposed to just using it to access a high up area.
Currently flying is basically a tacked on travel system that is OP because the game is largely designed for ground focused gameplay. By taking off on a flying mount you immediately negate 100% of the ‘threats’ to your character (mobs, terrain, etc) because those things are only problematic to the PC when on the ground.
Sure. what the game needs is players being shot down out of the sky whenever they try to avoid pointless dazing/dismounting mobs. That’ll bring in new customers.
I am curious what noticeable differences you see.
The unlocking has taken longer and we are now restricted to a narrow band of how high we can fly in these two new zones, I guess because of wPvP. I can’t see how they can realistically make the process worse for so little benefit and still manage to hook people into doing their crappy content to be ‘rewarded’ with a form of transportation.
