What External CD/DVD Drive Do You Recommend?

I’m about to invest in a new gaming rig, but have a multitude of cd’s I need to put into my media player (which has lost all my recorded stuff), so I’d like a recommendation from you if you’re using one already.

Thanks

I hunted around Amazon and found an automatic slot loader with a type C interface.
Auto loading means I don’t have to manually snap a disc into and out of the carrier saving a lot of aggravation and time.
Sorry, no brand.

Any of the cheap ones on Amazon should work if you’re going to use it temporarily. If you want it permanently hooked up I would recommend the Vantec optical drive enclosure.

I’m currently using an LG model BP60NB10. Works great for ripping audio CDs as well as DVD, blu-ray, and 4K discs. Haven’t tried burning any discs with it, I just don’t do that anymore.

I’m more interested in getting my 500+ cd’s stored back on WMP. Not looking forward to the nightmare of starting over, but it’s gotta be done. Not looking to watch any blus on my screen, so I’ll check out the ones y’all mentioned.

Thanks very much for taking the time to help me out!

Ideally get a powered eSATA riser and just run an internal drive externally. It’s going to be quieter and more reliable than any meant-to-be-external drive can hope to be. I have both a Pioneer BDR-209D and LG BH16NS60 running in this configuration and it’s been smooth sailing the whole way.

If you have to have a standard USB external drive (maybe you want it smaller or portable), I’ve had the best luck with the Pioneers. I won’t say it’s been great luck, though, as my old Pioneer isn’t even being detected at the moment - though I’ve made zero effort to actually investigate why (it probably just needs to be unplugged and plugged back in).

This is internal, but i recommend LG WH16NS40, just for Blu-ray (on top of CD/DVD) capabilities.

so i misread your question.

i still would get a blu ray drive that can burn BD-XL disc, rip all your music, get a couple of BD-XL discs, and burn all your ripped music to those as a backup
