What expansion had the best MUSIC?

My vote goes to Battle for Azeroth. It was NOT a good expansion but had some real bangers.

And plenty of others. Music team was on point for sure back then.

I would say Wrath. Howling Fjord. Grizzly Hills. Arthas’ Theme.

All around great stuff. I’m with ya though, BFA was killer in terms of the music.

Probably MoP.

  • Timeless Isle theme
  • Way of the Monk
  • Jaina’s Theme

Also had great login screen music and the zone music was generally great.

BfA was good (liked the Mechagon boss music, for example), but it was a bit hit or miss.

Recently Shadowlands was pretty bad, but the theme from the Anduin fight in Sepulcher stood out as a great song.

Most of TBCs music was initially intended for Diablo 3. It’s pretty atmospheric, but I wouldn’t put it toward the top of my list.

The best songs were probably:

  • Temple of the Moon
  • Silvermoon City (especially the intro part)
  • Azuremyst Isle
  • Old Hillsbrad music (think it might also be used in the Caverns of Time)
  • Black Temple music that was also used in Legion

wrath, its not even a contest, nothing has come close to the level of ambience that wrath’s soundtracks created in the zones, dungeons and raids. nothing will ever come close. its not even a contest and anyone who disagrees is just plain wrong

For me MoP. Especially the Timeless Isle and that big middle zone that had our farms.

I’d say DF comes 2nd 9/10 vault of the incarnates music will decide if it gets 10/10 or stays a 9/10

I know no one likes shadowlands but I dont care, there has not been an expansion I did not like. I think my favorite songs from wow are a tie between daughter of the Sea, and the song that is playing when Sylvanus tears the crown apart.

While I agree that wrath was amazing and my number 2, I just can’t put it above vanilla. Stormwind, Elewyn Forest, Orgrimar, the graveyard music….such iconic tracks. Even stranglethorn was super creepy at the time

BfA, 100% was the peak of wow music.

Wrath was also great but it was more like an atmospheric score than actual music. Dragonblight was wonderfully atmospheric.

Grizzly hills music was annoying, sorry for those who liked it, I just cannot agree with you.
