What expansion got you into WoW?

And do you remember liking the one after?

Do you got into wow mid expansion or did you started right at the release of a new one? And how was that for you?

I’m under the impression people tend to ALWAYS like the FIRST expansion they’ve experience since the beginning.

I’ve join mid Cataclysm and I remeber liking it quite a bit, but Pandaria was the first one I’ve experience first hand with everybody and I loved every second of it.

I believe that’s why Classic and TBC are super popular, classic because classic and TBC because it was the first everyone playing back then got to experienced.

I joined at the beginning of BC but was too young to understand the lore and gameplay aspects of the game well enough.

My favorite expansions, funny enough, are Cataclysm and BFA up to the last patch.
Cata was the first expansion I properly inhaled and understood, and I simply have fond memories connected with both - so the choice is as subjective as it can be.

Cataclysm, on account of the free trial being extended to level 20 instead of an hour of play time.

I played levels 1-20 on just about everything until I could afford a subscription.

Same.

Started in late vanilla, but I was 11 so I didn’t know what I was doing. I just liked taming hunter pets.

It wasn’t until WoD that I understood the game well enough to play at a more serious level. So, I guess it was WoD that “got me into” the game.

Horrific, I know.

F&F Alpha.

I’ve liked all of the expansions, I have fond memories of all of them. There’s always rough spots, but I liked them all more than not.

Started playing in OG WoW. I did not like TBC.

None, played in 2005 when there was no expansion.

Burning Crusade, though I didn’t know it at the time. I’d log into for an hour, maybe once a week and then slowly got more interested. I think it took me three months to finish Tanaris. I didn’t see BC content until much later, I was leveling.

My first add on was a quest helper with this Crazy Arrow. I was downright astonished that quests were over there near where I’d been many times but never saw them.

The Very Big Thing was that WotLK upgraded everyone’s gear in the first ten opening quests. Now on even playing ground, I got invited to dungeons, a super new experience and I now wanted to log in every night.

Vanilla and Shadowlands. Cataclysm got me out and it stuck for a long time.

I was already playing by the forst expansion.

But the SC2 expansion got me into computer games.

I joined when TBC was part of the Battle Chest with Vanilla. Quite happy with my draenei hunter from that time. I’ve found a reason to enjoy all expansions in one way or another, only finding myself bored enough to unsub during Cata and WoD, but never anything else. Love this game.

Do you have an armorless epic mount?

No one will know what this means anymore

No. I had a slow mount for a very, very long time.

Why didn’t you just make gold back then?

Well, when I was a kid my uncle was playing Wow and Diablo 2. Me and my brother wanted to play, and he let us each play on the games. I proceeded to make a blood elf and run straight off the map somehow. (I had no idea how I could get out of the water) So, I tried Diablo while my brother tried Wow. I remember telling my uncle that diablo was a much funner game. But that is what would lead me to eventually starting wow a couple years later in the middle of Mists of Pandaria.

I never made it to endgame content in mists, but just running around like a noob dying to everyday mobs was kind of fun.
