(I don't play horde much so forgive me if this is explained in game somewhere)
Throughout various areas of the game, hostile trolls sometimes drop things labeled as "Mojo". For example in the various quests for Drakaru in the Grizzly Hills you have to kill Drakari Trolls for various types of mojos.
What is mojo? Does it serve a purpose to trolls? Does it have anything to do with their culture? I'm interested. Let's discuss this.
It's a sticky, frothy liquid contained in the bodies of Trolls and Ogres.
No really.
No really.

Does it have a biological purpose? What's its do for them?

It's mostly for spiritual and ritual purposes. Most mojo seems to be a liquid substance, maybe some sort of specialized alchemy Trolls use.
During the preperations for the Broken Shore some Darkspear give you some that act as a health potion.
Voodoo on the other hand is much more complex. Do I stay away from it? Do I come get it? I JUST DON'T KNOW!

It's an innate source of magic that seems to take on the properties of the individual it's applied to, for example undead trolls have a dark cotteny mojo to reflect their undead essence. Essentially it's some form of life force that can be drawn from trolls, Ogres, and animals.
Why Trolls in particular know how to harvest this vital essence is a mystery, every other race seems to only be able to steal it.

Did night elves ever have mojo? Did they simply neglect it as their culture changed after drinking from the nightwell or did it somehow fundamentally change their body structure to no longer contain it?
Is it just me, or is anyone else reminded of vitae from Amnesia: The Dark Descent?11/14/2018 12:25 PMPosted by DarethyIt's an innate source of magic that seems to take on the properties of the individual it's applied to, for example undead trolls have a dark cotteny mojo to reflect their undead essence. It may be something they lost as a result of their transformation, they no longer have the trolls immense regenerative capabilities. The bit about Vitae in dark descent is actually on point, as it's been used interchangeably with troll sweat and blood before, so it's something contained in their bodily fluids.
Mojo is Purple like a lot of Trolls' Death Magic... And like Death Magic it deals either Nature or Shadow Damage...
It is also a zandali slang term for chutzpah, moxie, or je ne se qui, as seen in Bwonsamdi's approving "Ya got big mojo, boy," when Vol'jin made a bargain for the power to off Zalazane and reclaim the Echo Isles.
The Kool-aid man is made from Red Mojo.
Whatever it is, we know it's not exclusive to troll or even Azeroth biology, as evidenced by at least one ogre having mojo.
In my headcanon, I treat it as being the specific compound that corresponds to a biological creature's personal mana system. The same way blood holds and carries oxygen and such, mojo is the metaphysical thing that holds and carries a person's mana. When a mage casts a spell using their own mana, that mana specifically comes from their mojo. Trolls using mojo in their voodoo is just one in a large number of differences separating troll spellcasting from anything familiar to other races.
But that's just my own conjecture though.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Trolls have mojo because trolls have style. Humans? No mojo. Elves? Lost it in the well of obscurity. Only trolls and gnomes still have that power.
Frothy liquid that gets sucked out of individuals. Great, Trolls follow the Aleister Crowley school of magic.

That's why you don't eat Troll cakes.
I've had a Massive Mojo in my bag since Vanilla. It's like when a single person wears sexy underwear just for themselves; no one sees it, but it helps you feel more confident.

Huh I always thought it actually was some sort of troll sexual excretion and Blizzard were just beating around the bush. Today I learned something new.
