What exactly is the Show Personal Cooldowns setting for?

Under Personal Resource Display there is a setting for Show Personal Cooldowns. My thought is that it would show an icon or something for the spells on cooldown attached to the health/power bar below my character. However nothing shows up when I use a cooldown. Does anyone know what this setting is supposed to to?

So on my shaman it only appears to show active short buff such as Ancestral Guidance but not Fire elemental or Nature’s Swiftness. Seems a bit unintuitive. From the way its worded my thoughts were it would put your spells cooldowns on your floating bar to let you know they are cooling down.

It should show a timer on the ability itself.

Is there a list spells that show or an example of what its supposed to look like? I’ve not had much luck searching this topic on my own.

UI and Macro is where you’ll want to ask questions like this one.

It puts timers on spells currently on your bar.
