What exactly is the issue with Zandalari Warlocks?

They’re in the lore. They’re in the game. They were advertised on the Allied Race page since Blizzcon 2017 and then shown again a full year later on the 2018 Panel. You’re really going to back out after all that?

So what? The Orc Warlocks weren’t accepted at first either, they were confined to the Cleft of Shadows and looked down on. You could still make an Orc Warlock in MoP after Garrosh went through and murdered/imprisoned them all. Not to mention that every single Demon Hunter in the game is an ex-outcast who was only grudgingly accepted by their faction.

Again, so what? Is it really a game breaking issue if one race has a single extra playable class? We’re talking about one of the oldest races on Azeroth, it makes sense that they’ve been around long enough to dip their ugly toes in a few different professions over the years.

Want to pretend that not a single Zandalari was ever raised by Arthas? Whatever. Want to stick to the Illidan origin of Demon Hunters? Totally fine (although Demonaics did it first - just sayin). But come on, Zandalari Warlocks 100% exist and there’s no reason they shouldn’t be playable, especially since you advertised them for an entire year.

Agreed.

KT should be able to be Paladins too, they are in Warcraft 3.

There is no logical reason not except for Blizzard saying “you think you do but you don’t”

Prob because faction balance which is also a poor excuse lore should beat out faction balance for this situation.

Something I want add is I always felt a Hexer/Witch Doctor fit under Warlock fantasy

Sounds good! Don’t see anything wrong with throwing a bone to the Alliance in exchange, and an extra Pally race might not be a bad idea since there’s going to be so many Zandalari Paladins soon.

Gameplay does not equal lore, and vice versa. That’s the reason. If you don’t like it, then deign your own game.

What’s the ‘gameplay’ reason then?
A lot of other good games allow any race to be any class.

I don’t see the big deal. Fat Paladins, Zandalari Warlocks, neither are as cool as Zandalari Paladins.

Okay so going back to the point of the entire thread…What exactly is the problem?

zandalari druids

I really don’t think whatever constraint they went with was worth taking off a race/class combo that they had already teased.

It’s one of those things I’ll never find justifiable.

They swapped them out for paladins when all the QQing about them not having paladins reached a breaking point.

I completely agree. If you screw up your advertising for an entire year you should be prepared to bite the bullet and just go with it, even if it’s not what you were discussing internally.

It’s one thing if they had caught it right away, but I’m not exaggerating when I say that it was on an official webpage for an entire year.

Because the alliance recently got 2 additional paladins so the horde got thrown a bone.

BORING :sleeping::sleeping::sleeping:

Actually the issue was that they kept giving the Alliance new shaman without adding pallys to the Horde.

That doesn’t answer the question. You’re implying that Warlocks were swapped for Paladins, and that may very well be the case - but again, why did Warlock need to be cut? Why wasn’t the Paladin simply added?

They took away locks to give paladins. Balancing I suppose. Either that or locks were never gonna be a thing and someone making the slides for blizzcon f-Ed up.

Weren’t they removed in the same expansion that introduced them?

Because they still feel these two classes should be the focus of their factions, so there is limited access to the opposing faction. Like how the Alliance has 5 races that can be Shamans, while the Horde has 7. We have 5 Paladin races, while you have 3.

You’re asking for a logical reason to remove something? To Blizz? Who removed vendors, tokens, reforging and tier sets?

You silly geese.
