There r the usual “omfg me unsub now” thread all over the top, and i can’t seem to figure out what exactly the complaint is.
What exactly is the complaint?
I only have 1: being forced to play a furry to enjoy actual gameplay. #PULLTHERIPCORD. Other than that, what is the beef?
Dungeons? SL dungeon > BFA dungeon by a mile. I throughly enjoy the M0 and M+ experience in SL. (im 2.3k io bfa s4) To those who complain that they don’t get loot in dungeons, what has changed? there are ALWAYS a chance for u to receive nothing at the end of a dungeon since the inception of dungeon crawlers. Do you really want the experience of getting 200 azerite power at end of dungeons again?
Raid’s Hard. and it’s amazing.
Anima Farm: completely optional. since i am forced to roll a furry, all “story” and “lore” content in SL is dead to me. so all these anima farming crap is completely optional.
Grindy chores: grind what? i am typing this as i sit beside a lake fishing in 187 gear, after completing a pretty short list of mandatory power content, there are very little i “Have” to do. I’ll probably do a couple more M+ tonight, a couple of more battle grounds. What “grind” are we talking about? Am i missing smt
PVP Balance: is crap. i know. this is week 1. hopefully they fix this soon. the first major balance pass has not yet happened. will reserve judgement until then.
Torghast: it takes a while. but not too difficult and not that boring. especially if u do it with a few friends. at about 1h per run, and 4 run to max out each week, it is a bit tedious. If they just allow us to skip straight to say, level 6 this week, it’d be much better.
The majority of people complaining on the forums are low post count forum trolls. My guild has been super active and everyone in it seems to love the expansion so far. I haven’t heard any complaints in game.
My only two real complaints are that blacksmithing feels useless aside from legendaries and I don’t like that frost DK got knee capped with nerfs at the last second before pre patch dropped in.
For me personally at the moment I feel a touch underwhelmed, but I also don’t quite know what it was I was expecting. I don’t think timegating the story weekly was a good idea, I think they extended the timegating a bit too far this time around in general really. I’ll decide if I want to no-life it or not, I don’t need Blizzard to set my schedule for me.
For now I’m letting my sub run out and my friends and I will be returning to FFXIV for a while. We plan on coming back to Shadowlands once the game is a few patches in.
Most of the systems are fluff though. The vast majority of the systems are for cosmetic fun stuff that you don’t have to care about unless you want to. Renown is basically just a weekly unlock timegate, which isn’t super fun but I understand the need to pace things out. You don’t have to grind anima unless you want to unlock every cosmetic. The Sanctum stuff is pretty much all for cosmetics.
I don’t really find that there are that many systems.
Conduits: basically another piece of “gear” you will have to chase and get it to drop.
Soulbinds: nothing needs to be done regarding this. you just set it like a talent page and move on.
Legendary: really only half a system. you go get ur best lego, do ur weekly chores so u get the mats to make it, and it’s over. Legendary system is really just a talent row that u have to spend some effort to set up.
Renown: a short weekly quest sequence that get u through it pretty automatically. and if u are behind, catchup is automatic.
