Basically the title. What does it mean?
An illegal server that hosts a version of WoW, they come in many flavors and somehow usually have better admin than the real thing.
Haven’t played many pservers then I see.
so why Blizz hasn’t take them down through lawsuit?
Essentially its a pirated version of the game that someone is running outside of the servers that exists in retail wow. They typically are a version of the game, kind of like vanillas, with some being heavily modded to essentially force you to buy abilities or have random abilities generated that you can use.
They do take them down as they find them.
Most of them are in countries that don’t recognize IP laws.
all the big ones, they are definitely more transparent than blizzard and fix things faster than 4-8 month patch cycles lol.
While you deal with daily, sometimes hourly crashes, heavy P2W (the best Wrath server sells Shadowmourne for like 160 bucks), corrupt GMs, corrupt admins, and so much more.
pservers have a LOT more problems than blizzards real game
I’ve played on every major pserver from TBC to MoP, they’re just “ok”
WOW… NEW KIDZ OF THE ALICE…
you will say rather, pirate server, the only way to play WoW in F2P without microtransaction and with some problems, as it also has to thank the popularity of that MMO especially in Latin America.
However, the 100% blizzlike or original retail has the disadvantages in these servers, something that in content there will be alteration, full bugs or lack of what you would not see something special as it is originally to play wow only paying the game subs, apart from that possibly Blizzard is at the look like the case of a certain Vanilla server in which it made a Cease and desist due to its 100% originality with the retail server.
However, see how much of these servers, I assure you that a world union syndicate should already do what it should do, and it should not do on a pirate server.
Although sometimes a private server is used in the case of streamers or youtubers who make content with WoW NPCs.
At least in these times now if the pirated or private Servers will have something originality.
And I mean we will find a Marshal Friabasi at the entrance to Stormwind. MUA HAHAHA…
Not denying they have more technical problems but at least they address them usually within hours/days of them being reported, blizzard not great at that.
Still trying to figure out what servers you’ve been playing on lol.
That same wrath server I was talking about has had a major quest broken for years. All of them have those kinds of problems.
Only server I’ve ever seen fix things decently quick is a classless server, which is all custom.
some time , in a dungen , if u can get it is SOFUN did u try , then in a pravale sorver , U CANT GET PEPOLE nobody there as u get a pravale
Nost, LH, those ones were perfectly serviceable when they existed
Nost was pog
Those are two I’ve never played on, cause frankly, vanilla wow sucks.
Makes sense though that those would be the ones with the LEAST problems, least amount of scripting required and everything was much more simple.
/tenchar
I play one of them. It’s a wrath expansion one. Sadly, they fix bugs faster than retail and they care more about their players than retail.
They can’t do a thing against servers out of their “zone” of law.
I used to wish the people who had the passion and talent to reverse-engineer a private server would instead focus their talent and time on starting a legitimate new open-source MMO.
Although I sort of missed out on the MUD era (the text-based precursors to MMOs), I had acquaninces who were highly active builders in those games.
It means a sease and desist orders in your future
