What "empire?"

Maybe I’m misssing something…but…isnt there NO Arathi empire? How long have these people been away?

So time travel?

Arathi humans haven’t been an “empire” since the end of Warcraft 2 when Lothar died.

Yeaaaarrsss before WoW was even a zygote inside the coin purse.

Okay, can we get back on topic please? I for one dont care what race some made-up pixels are made to look like…moving on.

I’m wondering who their emperor is then…and i’m wondering if this is something we’ll end up exploring in season 2.

Do you know where you are?

It feels more like laying the groundwork for future expansions to me.

Its new lore.
They split off about 2000 years ago along with some high elves and now theyre half elves.

that part makes sense and they kinda hamfistedly explain HOW they got there ,and I could have sworn I even caught a whiff of how Faerlin ended up there (stow-away, adopted…) but they keep referring to the Emperor as if they are a real person and then dont seem to go into WHERE they are… Also, I got annoyed that Anduin (just like in WoD) doens’t immediatley go…>WAIT…i’m the king of Stormwind…we didnt know you people existed…blah blah)…instead he stays quiet…

but they are not you can ask one of them in the start of the zone and they said they are not elves but Arathi

From what I’m reading apparently there is still a separate island or Arathi kingdom somewhere that broke off from the old empire of the Eastern Kingdoms?

Perhaps we’re going to see a big old supersized Arathi kingdom in this expansion that is later connected to Hallowfall? Then we can march on the void and stuff and have a Diablo 4 cinematic, which was pretty awesome not gonna lie.

Theyre far away to the west i believe where theyve set up an empire on a landmass weve never heard of or been to.
Im sure we will go there down the line.

It’s either a “other side of the world” thing (which I kinda hate personally, we literally have spaceships) or a time travel thing. The half elves do suggest it exists in our current time though.

thanks…i think i must have missed that part.

The assumption is they’re beyond the sea to the west of Kalimdor and to the East of the Eastern Kingdoms.

I’m hoping they’re from a splinter timeline and the group we meet in Hallowfall were teleported across space and time.

Hamfisting an entire massive new empire on another hidden continent is just…. Bad writing.

true, but this is blizz we’re talking about… the same ones who wrote that horrible Chronicles 4 that I’m regretting having bought…

Some folks can’t help themselves, they can’t stop feeding the trolls.

I just use ignore a lot, so eventually you don’t see them.

Randomly appearing giant landmasses isnt new to wow.
Im sure it was magically hidden behind some clouds again, with fierce storms that stop ships sailing there.

Good writing? No.
But it would be like the 3rd or 4th time theyve done it.

The ones we’ve received were all part of the lore for decades. This one has never once been mentioned in the extended lore until DF.

This one is out of nowhere because they’re running out of ideas of what to do with Azeroth.

Just because it isn’t a new idea, doesn’t mean it isn’t a bad idea.

All they have to do is have some of the main characters say something like “we haven’t even really explored all of Azeroth yet…” that’s it. Literally, that’s it.

I for one, would NOT have a hard time believing that islands randomly appear when you tink about the sundering having split up the entire world and the planet resembles Earth.

There are places we STILL haven’t seen that are overdue too!

  • Tel’Abim

  • the REST of Kezan

  • Real Nazjatar and not the tiny little mini-island we got
