What dungeons would YOU want to see in a future M+ rotation?

i think there’s potential for some wotlk dungeons to be reworked and made to fit like gundrak, halls of lightning, azjol nerub, and probably some others. i always enjoyed doing wotlk dungeons because they weren’t just straight hallways of mobs like vanilla/tbc (the exceptions being black morass and old hillsbrad and maybe some others)

Shattered Halls, Ramparts, Blackrock Depths, Blackrock Spire

Gnomer and BRD from classic, full clears just add some boss mechanics

Old Hillsbrand and Shadowlabs from TBC

Oculus and Halls of reflection from Wrath

Halls of Origination and ZG from Cata

Nice, easy, and short dungeons

Trial of the Crusader! :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

Deadmines, Ramps, Maw, Scholomance, SFK, Magister’s Terrace, End Time, Pit of Saron, Scarlet Monastery.

SM GY is all I want to see with the added bonus of incorpo, spiteful and tyrannical removed

Scarlet cathedral, stratholme undead, botanica, pit of saron to name a few

Sethekk Halls, Blackrock Depths, Sunken Temple, Gundrak, Grim Batol,Stratholme,Underbog,Forge of Souls

I think most dungeons would work except the wave based ones like black morass and violet hold.

I’d like to see Stonecore and maybe Old Kingdom in War Within season one.

The WoD revamped UBRS would fun.

Gundrak and Eck is a required boss.

The Arcway…

Lots of backtracking in that one, so efficiency would be nice to see…

Maw of Souls
Siege of Boralus
Lost City of Tol’vir
Vault of the Wardens
Eye of Azshara

lol seems like I like ones with “of” in the title…

Just about any old dungeon. I would not mind even SFK, VC, or even Stockades.

Just change up the mobs. Add some gates or something. Could be like Stockades level 1-5 with identical levels but different mobs or something

Add some puzzles. Like the old NES games such as Lolo. Open chests that could lead to different mobs. Move blocks to get through faster and each instance of the small dungeon has a short route or a long route. Add some randomness

I know it may be an unpopular opinion, but while I find the idea of retooling pre-m+ dungeons into the M+ pool interesting, I’ve not been a fan of it. They weren’t designed with it in mind and they always just feel so clunky to me. I’d rather the resources be spent on creating more new dungeons rather than trying to fit older game design into the current game.

BRD, the old version before it was split in 2. Also Mythic Vex Thal. oops, wrong game but Vex Thal was a huge raid that often took a few days to clear back in the day when it was new.

Wow Vanilla:

Zul’Farrak
Maraudon
Blackrock Depths (all bosses killed required)
Temple of Atal’Hakkar (all bosses killed required)
Stratholme

… . . . all large, some parts cannot get the gogogogo treatment, and few places to didge trash do to erratic patrols and quick respawns.

I could definitely see Seat of the Triumvirate being used in Midnight or late TWW, as it would be thematically relevant during that time.

Scarlet Monastery (either the new version or bring back the old version)

Imho, it’s not a good look. A handful of dungeons maybe, but for the most part, tall dungeons were long, linear, and boring.

Halls of Atonement was kinda awesome. Large, open spaces to path through. Tides in the current rotation is exactly the opposite. You basically have to kill every mob in the place.

I like dungeons that put more emphasis on pathing and planning (as a tank main). And linear dungeons with over count just means rogues or invis pots become required (looking at Fall of Galakrond specifically).

Less RP, less backtrack. Rise of Murazond is like that, you spend so much time running that no amount of routing can shave any time off at all.

Scholomance might be a good candidate, if they reopened some hallways. But again, kinda very linear. Maybe not so good. Dire Maul could be good, lots of space in there, but lots of work to do, besides.

I’ve sometimes thought a better idea for “seasonal” play would be to replace all the mobs and bosses in existing dungeons every season. In any event, there’s some nostalgia to using these old dungeons for m+, but they haven’t been successful, and even some new dungeons haven’t been designed with m+ in mind.

Utgarde Pinnacle
Utgarde Keep
Hellfire Ramparts
Steamvaults
Mechanar might be interesting
Shattered Halls maybe?
