I was having load screen issues for the longest time, but ignored them. I got fed up with it today so I did a quick google search. I found a post, by a blue, recommending to use this script - “/console worldPreloadNonCritical 0”. What exactly does this do?
I found another post by a blue offering the reset of that prior script to a player experiencing invisible walls everywhere after using it.
Yes, it worked. Load screens seemed to of halved. I would feel more comfortable knowing exactly what I did though. If possible, say it in layman’s terms as I am not a coder or someone with in-depth knowledge in this field.

If you change it to 1 your load times will increase but it will preload more of the world such as textures and what not. If you fly around pretty quick or have a slow loading pc you may notice “pop in”. This means that without the item in question preloaded the item will randomly pop up on screen much later than it should have, such as a texture or a mountain in the distance or something. This “fix” was heavily used in legion with Dalaran load times. Hope it helps!
P.S I think this is what it is from memory slight chance I’m wrong.

Have you altered an .INI file or did you do it in game? Orrrrr did you augment wow via bnet launcher to load with this script? If the first two then I believe once is enough. The other will auto do it for you. (Unless you repair:reinstall or come across a add on or patch that resets it)

Should be fine, if you are worried do the script then restart your pc and load the game again and see if your load times are still quick. The reason I ask you to restart is your pc will cache wow in its memory and will load faster by default so a restart should test your script.
If it… doesn’t work you may need to put it into a wow config file to do it for you or as a augment In bent launcher. It’s not overly difficult.
