What does the Twisting Nether look like?

I struggle to understand the Twisting Nether. It is described as an ethereal plane that looks vastly different depending on who’s experiencing it, with time passing differently and physical laws not applying. However it does have physical objects such as planets ; many life forms are native to the Twisting Nether, life forms that largely compare to those native to the Great Dark Beyond, and it must have at least some degree of stability since various cultures and civilizations arose there. Outland is floating in this dimension, and it still manages to remain somewhat decently functional and habitable all things considered. Also, just like the Great Dark Beyond, it was born from the cosmic clash between Light and Void ; only the energies that resulted in the creation of the Nether were more chaotic and untamed.

Maybe we’ll get to visit it one day ? Do you expect it to look like, idk, Argus maybe ? Like, a fel-infused hellhole ? I’m under the impression that there might be more to it than just that but maybe I’m overthinking it

We have visited it a few times. Archimonde in HFC on mythic ports everyone there for example.

Hell, if you fly away from any point in Outland you will end up entering “The Twisting Nether”. Although Blizzard has moved away from that for most zones in Outland. With only Netherstorm really being in the Twisting Nether due to story reasons.

See this orc entering the Dark Portal. Yeah, that is what the twisting nether looks like.

True, but this is but a glimpse of it ; I rather meant, what does a Twisting Nether world look like ? Also I tend not to give much value to the older iterations of content that will most likely be given importance in the future (see how modern days Zandalari and Bwonsamdi look nothing like what we saw in WotLK)

Fair, although all we have at this point is older iterations, with the most recent ones being Legion. Which seems to be just outside of any Legion World/Zone. Mardum, Argus, Dreadscar Rift, etc. All these places seem to give a basic example of what the Nether looks like in game.

That’s all we really have to go off of. Older iterations are all we have for info, given the knowledge from books is vastly different from what we see in game.
