This thread was started on Jul 17th 2018. It has thousands of replies, and yet we’ve received almost no communication from Blizzard on the subject.
Anyways, why I am posting this? Because my sub runs out in 2 hours and I don’t know when I’ll be back.
A modicum of communication would have been all I needed to stay. Some kind of shred of hope that our feedback mattered at all. But all we’ve gotten is silence, both on here and on twitter. Just…
What the hell does it take to actually get a response?
Activision does not like unions, much like most corporations and guilds are a kinda symbolic of unions. When the LFG functions accidentally stabbed guilds hard Activision was probably a little gleeful. Of course it is a little symbolic for the death of the game as well.
As far as the lack of communication it is because wow for the most part is toast, The days of retaining 10+ million subs through the course of an xpac are over and Blizz knows this (too much focus on esport and not enough MMORPG), which, is why they are chopping staff and moving talent to mobile. If you do not follow them into the emerging market it does not matter…the next generations will happily download Diablo 7 off the latest iphone 22 that has lasers that detect responses to your pupils and can measure your fight or flight response or some crap.
Don’t worry though, the game is not over yet, the pretend sports will go on and the addicted will get their “please resub dreadnaught mounts” until Blizz finally puts a fork in the game.
Those threads that ask “what kind of donut is your character’s favorite”, or “you wake up and Anduin has stolen all your conditioner” get pretty high amounts of blue text.
This is far from the only reason I’m unhappy with the game. But if tweaking some UI options requires months of waiting and thousands of forum posts then what hope is there for any of the larger issues to be addressed? That’s what I’m getting at.
Has anyone tried catfishing a blue poster into responding to a lounge thread or a “you wake up and” thread that’s actually about the guild ui or another issue with tons of unanswered customer feedback? Would it work?
I doubt that. I think the issue is that the blues want to communicate more but aren’t allowed to by someone above them. And those people aren’t allowed to make exceptions due to someone above them… That goes all the way up the ladder.
Basically, the same issues a lot of giant corporate structures have.
