Ahh, that reminds me of Mary Jo Walford*. I met her in fifth grade. One day she beat me up at recess because I got a home run during kickball. Later that day, she passed me a note to meet her by the swings after school. I showed up thinking I might get beaten again, but hoping I might convince her to be my friend instead, She had a mean left hook.
So, she showed up and stormed over to me with her fist clenched, I started to put my hands up and she pushed her face onto mine and gave me a big fat kiss right on the lips. Then she ran away. This was never discussed again, and she never beat me again either. Just to be safe, from that point forward I’d kick her easy lobs when it was my turn at kickball.
