When I look at custom made groups, I constantly see reven 2x4 farm BOE. What does this mean?
BOE stands for Bind on Equip otherwise I don’t know the rest.
Just spam killing mobs in hopes of getting BoEs to drop.
They run 4 people per group (instead of 5) so others can get kill credit too.
Besides the above it also means if you need a boss…they may not hit it.
Farm runs are not full clears of bosses per se. No need to see boss, they ain’t seeing the boss if they can avoid it.
Farm = to do a repetitive task, over and over. in this case killing trash mobs. Think, of the mobs as a tree, the loot is the sweet apple growing on it, your gonna cut down tress to get the apple.
BoE = Bind on equip, gear drops that can be sold on the AH.
So you would be killing trash mobs with a group an resetting the dungeon over and over in order to earn sellable gear.
Plant BoE seeds in a 2x4 plot of yard, water and care for them for few weeks and harvest new BoEs before winter.
It’s a gold farm in Revendreth.
2x4 means they’ve got two groups of 4 to maximize tags, since you can have up to 5 tags on a mob before it goes grey normally, but if you have one group of four tag it, and another group of four tag it, you’ve got 8 tags on that mob now.
BoE = Bind on Equip. Usually referring to the greens and blue items that drop on occasion, which I imagine is exactly what they’re farming.
so BOE farm is done in the dungeon?
Not necessarily.
Back in BfA, for example, they would have 2x4 groups doing the mobs in a particular part of Boralas where there were rapidly respawning mobs of hostile humanoids. The mobs would drop lots of cloth and fairly frequent gear. So the two groups would move within a certain small area constantly aoe attacking the mobs as they spawned and collecting gold, cloth, gear and whatever else dropped. You could do it for half an hour or so and get a lot of useful stuff.
Typically yes, but it doesnt seem like the case here, this is a new one to me too, you can “farm” items though maybe you need a ton cloth, you go “farm” humanoids who drop it by just hanging out in a high respawn point and killing them as they respawn.
Anchor weed was a very popular 2x4 farm during BfA.
There is a chance of a purple item to drop when you kill a mob but the drop rate is extremely low so people make groups to spam kill loads of mobs and hope they get a boe purple.
And why people do it well because it sells very very good in AH .
