I asked a question earlier on the forums about RaiderIO and some people were talking about “1 chest” or “2 chest”. What does that mean?
It’s how quickly you complete the instance. You finish it on time, you ‘1 chested it’ and your key upgrades 1 level, from an 8 to a 9. You finish a bit more quickly, and you could upgrade your key to a 10 or 11 from that 8. That would be 2 or 3 chesting it.
That explains it. Thanks Lull!
You used to get bonus chests of loot based on how quickly you beat the timer.
Now it’s one chest regardless but the terminology stuck.
To expand on Adorb’s post:
In the early part of Legion (up until 7.2 I believe), upon finishing the dungeon, there would be either one, two, or three treasure chests, depending on how much you beat the timer by. So, to “three-chest” the dungeon meant to clear it quickly enough to get three treasure chests. Later, they just combined all the loot into one chest. But, like Adorbs said, the terminology was already embedded in the community at that point. Raider dot io shows it as one, two, or three stars. So sometimes you might hear “three-star” instead of “three-chest”. It’s the same thing.
