What do you use to record gameplay?

Hi, posting this in the general topic because it’s a general question. For those of you that record your game play what do you use? It would appear OBS is having issues across different games at the moment, I really haven’t been able to use it for WoW recently, and I really don’t want to go back to using shadow play. Are there in other programs that anyone recommends?

Both Windows and Mac have build-in screen recording now if I’m right. Not sure about the quality though.

Twitch Studio, and then the default gaming program. I’ll find it later. Can’t recall it off hand.

I don’t need good quality videos, so I just use the GeForce one where when you click the hotkey it records the last Xmins of gameplay.

On the Mac I used the build-in screen-recording and it works very nicely. On Windows I used the ShadowPlay (?) from Nvidia and the output video is easy to work with and during recording it doesn’t make the game feel choppy.

I think ShadowPlay recording quality is quite OK and here is our clip for your reference.

Such as? I never have problems using OBS to record VR footage.

NVIDIA ShadowPlay.

It works great for looking at your own playbacks. There was an issue with the mouse disappearing sometimes but there was a work around for it.

I also had some issues with uploading to Youtube at the proper resolution but that was an issue with ultra wide not being supported by OpenShot without a custom profile.

Normally obs for a long video or that radeon thing for clips.

The windows built-in thing works fine for me.

I use a polaroid and then make flip books of my exploits.

Well honestly, I think part of it is me. Although the OBS reddit has a few threads with people having the same issue with different games so that to me sounds like an OBS issue. Started using it around the time of the anniversary event worked great at first, then just recently started having problems.

I use OBS. I’ve never had an issue, but then I don’t use it for WoW very frequently. My most recent one was recording a pet battle strategy for a guildie about two weeks ago. It was definitely after the anniversary event, and it was fine.

What issue are you having?
