What do you think of half elves

A new race which is half high elf half human because I don’t see blizzard giving in to the demands of the high elf community anytime soon . so this would be a nice half way point so we can still get fair elven people instead of the purple ones.

I think it’d have a lot of the same issues as Void Elves, really.

People want to play High Elves. If they didn’t accept the substitute of Void Elves, why accept the substitute of Half-Elves? When people drag lore into it, Half-Elves make less sense than High Elves, though more sense than Void Elves I suppose. The number of Half-Elves isn’t really set in stone. Probably wouldn’t be hard to swap most of the High Elf NPCs in the Alliance with Half-Elves and just say they were always Half-Elves but there was never a model to distinguish them. At least that’d satisfy a lot of people’s lore-based interest.

Why would anyone want to play half a character? Can’t it be a whole Elf instead?

We have that.

It’s called role play, since in lore most halfings generally have a dominant side with a sprinkling of be other (a half human half elf would just be a regular human with small elf ears and a more elf looking face). It’s way to similar even by Allied Race standards, and their insanely rare in the lore anyways.

Half races won’t happen, so if you want to be one, role play one. People have been doing that for years.

I can see what you mean here I would prefer a full high elf instead but I believe many of people would agree with me. that if we got a very similar thing to them it would make me happy enough until blizzard decide to give us full high elf’s. And I would be nice to finally have proper models for people like kalegos and Arator.(that’s probably wrong spelling for his name)

As long as people can play members of groups such as the Silver Covenant, I think they’ll be satisfied. It wouldn’t really be a retcon to say that the bulk of the High Elves in the Alliance are actually Half-Elves.

But I think a lot of people would see it as a retcon to deny players High Elves. It’d probably be less hassle just to add High Elves, honestly, even if Blizzard has to pull another Void Elf scenario and have them all transformed by some power or some entity and look different because of it.

But why would we if blizzard has provided a system perfect allied races to add in similar races to those we already have.

To Huxlley because I wont let me say something twice in a row:
Ya most people would see it as a retcon but then even if blizzard stays steadfast on their no high elf’s position then at least we would have some thing that most people would be happy with like you said

I can’t really speak to what most people would be happy to, not knowing what most people want. Half-Elves might do for some, might not for others. I’ve seen suggestions saying to add High Elves as an allied race and add in options for ear lengths to include Half-Elves. Seems like the better way to go to please as many people as possible. More options are always a good thing.

only santa can have elfs

Ya fair on the most people thing so I will try to keep away for the for now on. To the idea with ear length I would be completely for that.

To fujiko because of this stupid rule:
So that’s where the high elf’s are Santa wont let blizzard release them so he can keep them working in his coal mine.

I think they will have the same treatment as High Elves! They will not have numbers big enough to be a playable race!
They, like High Elves, do not exist as playable race!

But I bet they would create a race of half void belves, also out of thin air, which would have this attribute, even though their parents were members of a crack squad of 40 blood elves!

Where have I heard the idea of a small race becoming a massive part of a faction I just can’t put my finger on it.

I could go either way.

Please don’t bring half races into WoW, they don’t make a lot of sense lore-wise.

Is Will Farrell the prototype model though?

How we already have Aretor. (or how ever you spell his name)

You can call em “Mistakes of Goldshire”

Add some long ears on the guy and it well be perfection

Yes, and you would rather there be a whole race dedicated to him instead of just calling him a mixed? like in real life?
