What do you think is the most lore accurate demon hunter Nelf or Belf?

I was wondering what you thought was the most lore accurate demon hunter? I originally thought Nelf since Illidan is a Nelf however someone made a good point and told me that Kaelthas gave a bunch of Belfs to Illidan to train into Demon Hunters. What do you think is more lore accurate?

Both these statements are true. Illidan is Lord and master of the Illidari. He trained his lieutenants who in turn trained others, or were at least attempting to before Maiev and the wardens imprisoned or slain them all at the Black Temple. Netharel, Theras, Alandien were nelves training recruits/acolytes. Varedis Felsoul was a belf also training them.

Kael’thas did join Illidan’s into Outland and gave him some to train as demon hunters, but only about 30ish years ago lorewise, therefore
any Belfs would be vastly less skilled than the Night Elves who have had demon hunters for 10,000 years.

Obviously not every nelf DH is 10,000 years old, but still, even if they’re only 1,000, they would still have centuries of experience more than the blood elven DH’s.

In other words, play a night elf if you want to play an elite Demon Hunter fantasy, or a blood elf if you want to be like the “new guy” DH.

NE were some of the initial DH but lacked in many ways, NE were not as militant of a people, not as trained, just wasnt a focus of thier people, it was thrust upon them, more tortured emo forgotten children, some were essentially slaves and farmers. But they gained strength over time with training. BE were around so some were already DH but not full on involved as a people. As a whole joined fully as elite soldiers gifted to the core a few generations back best of the best etc, and began to train with more structure. As military, order and structure, always training was more of a heritage of the BE people. So they brough more strength and ability’s to the core. Also keep in mind the BE people, the elites handed over as a gift were all soldiers and possed similar battle experiences and long life, so its not like they were fresh just borne bumpkins. Other wise them as a gift would of been considered slight vs an honored gift that was welcomed in and improved the core.

Major flaw at this point in the story it’s in via animations, even original raids, Demon Hunters possesed flight similar to Dracthyr. But in the game we only posses the glide feture. Should at this point be a simple compy and paste of a line of code to fix to add demonic flight. Its a massive over sight by Blizzard staff esp our dev. Like oh a vital part of the story.

Other races could join at this point as an escape from war torn regions much like the foreign legion. If they could survive the transformation. But would lack the generational battle skill and knowledge of BE and NE. Unless it was stand out exceptions. Would be an easy lore at this point as the BE we gifted over. Refugees with strength and abilities to survive transformation. An animation of large numbers dying trying would be a good add as well.

Also animations in general for DH need a serious modernization. The demon transformation for Havoc looks 20 years old, vengance is fine. Also need a glyph to remain in demon form.
