This is a topic I haven’t heard/read many opinions on. Some people are really upset by it because it throws previous expansions “in the trash” because you won’t level through them subsequently in order anymore.
Personally, I like this level squish change. Sometimes I feel like leveling through Northrend but I can’t because I’m not high enough level on the alt I want to play. Or vice versa, I chose to level through Cataclysm zones but once I’m level 90 I’d rather level in Pandaria but can’t because I’ve outleveled the zones.
With this change I can level where I want, when I want (after starting zones at level 10). But I want to hear other sides and opinions on it, what do you think of the upcoming changes in Shadowlands?

I am ALL for it. I want more classes at level cap, (I only have 3) and agree that some levels do not feel rewarding at all. I know that I myself will be creating tons more of characters, because the squish and increased level in speed will motivate me to level them because I enjoy leveling, just takes a bit more time than necessary currently. Even without the squish, I still would have gotten more alts up to level cap, but it’s nice that it’ll take less time now

I approve. Wholeheartedly.

Excited for it because I hate some expansions and leveling zones.
Scared because Blizzard is the one executing it.

I am A.OK with it. I will never not level through Pandaria, the best expansion to date. I absolutely dread doing Wrath content and am happy that I never have to return unless I want to.

I think it’s a bandaid… completely unnecessary and doesn’t change a single thing.
The only thing they needed to do was increase leveling speed (which they’re doing, so I’m grateful for that) but the alteration of 130 to 60 is purely cosmetic and has absolutely zero impact.

Looking forward to how it is going to change the world. here’s hoping they “fix” the Cataclysm next!

Except the fact that you can level on any of the expansions rather than having to constantly switch from one expa to another?
Or that the abilities have considerably less gap of learning between one another?
Seriously 100 to 120 is literally nothing
Has for OP, i love it, but i really want them to take their time with this, since its easy to mess it up

I’m very excited by it.
That with the way expansions will work will mean a totally new game experience. You can cover the journey of the pandaren on your whole patch to the final content.

this. this is exactly why i like the level-squish too. it means i can thematically level my toons, and i can’t wait! gonna level my mag’har in WoD, my pandaren in pandaria… and my demon-hunter in BC (cause that’s when they SHOULD have been added).

I’m sort of halfway in either camp with regards to the level squish. I like big levels, but i also want each level to feel meaningful. If i was in charge, I would rather change it so that every level from 1 - 120 has something new. But then again button bloat doesnt scare me in the least…

It is a huge quality of life improvement being able to level through only the expansions I want. I’m actually very excited about it, and it makes me not want to level anything right now because I cannot stomach the 60-80 range anymore.

I’m 50/50 about the squish. While I don’t mind our levels being squished down I am concerned about the stuff it could break in the process. If nothing breaks then I’ll be perfectly fine with it.
The biggest question I have going into squish is how will they handle legacy flying since we may need some form of it pretty early if we can level any where we want. There are zones like Storm Peaks, Deepholm, ect that kind of need flying to work properly.

They made it sound like you can still skip around if you want too. So if you like more than one xpac, you can do whatever you like.
You are so wrong here.
Instead of leveling through several different xpacs, you can level through ONE. This is great for new people and people with altoholism.
Also, they will have to make all old professions be on the same level with each other, so crafted items and mats from every xpac will rise in value.

I think just like the every expansion stat-squish they do these days it’s a bandaid fix that will leave a lot to be desired. :3

If it somehow solves the fact that some max level characters have 30k HP while others have 750k HP, I’m all for it.
Too much power is in gear, and not enough in the character.

I’m worried it’s going to mess up old world content. Also, at some point the numbers just look awful. What will HP and damage look like at 1-10?

That has nothing to do with the squish though.
They could’ve still made it so that we can level to 120 in a single Xpac. The squish itself is inconsequential… everything that came along with the squish but is completely unrelated to the squish (e.g. increase leveling speed and enough xp in every expansion to reach 50/120, more skills) is what’s important.

I believe that we will all have our skill equivalent that goes with the lower level. I mean it seems simple 120 = 60 etc.
