I had a [very short] phase of listening to that awhile back. If I ever get inkling to listen I listen to these guys:
That said, I find that basically -all- music on that instrument, no matter who is playing it, sounds exactly the same, so I lose interest really really fast.
@OP:
I don’t have anything specific I play WoW to, if I happen to listen to music while playing it’s just whatever I’m into in general at the time.
Folk Metal is probably the most common music for me to listen to, but I’ll occasionally poke back at System of a Down or Tool, mostly for nostalgia, as well as offshoots from the main bands I listen to that I wouldn’t have otherwise found.
Some favorite bands:
Eluveitie (folk metal, varying amounts of heaviness depending on song)
Tyr (not folk metal, but gets lumped in the conversation sometimes)
Korpiklaani (folk metal, lots of polka-esque stuff, upbeat, no growling)
Russkaja (similar to Korpiklaani in a way, slightly more poppy)
Dalriada (folk metal, typically clean vocals, occasional growling, needs more attention)
Lyriel (folk rock would probably be a better label, clean vocals, sound varies depending on album)
Ayreon (Rock Opera kinda deal, little bit of folk stuff thrown in occasionally)
SOAD, Tool, A Perfect Circle, only occasionally
Offshoots:
Anna Murphy (from Eluveitie) (sort of undefined, bit of everything, not metal)
Cellar Darling (from Eluveitie) (prog rock/metal depending on song, kinda)
Jonne (from Korpiklaani) (just plain folk, some covers, it’s good)
Roads&Shoes (from Lyriel) (acoustic, idk what the genre is, pretty “normal”, sounds good though)
Serj Tankian, Puscifer, only occasionally (screw Scars on Broadway, it sucks)
Here’s an example from Tyr’s newest album:
Here’s a song I love from an inactive project that I don’t like anything else from:

I want to post more but I know most people aren’t gonna click through this garbage and it’s already way too long x.x
If I’m raiding, either Japanese or Kpop Music. Things I can enjoy, but can’t latch onto the lyrics to distract me, though thats going away on the Japanese music.
If I’m questing or leveling a character, readings of old horror stories, especially lovecraftian ones.
I listen to the in-game sounds. I have the music turned off. When nothing is happening in game, I can hear my dog snore or the TV in the background. That’s about it.
Cats destroying something
Cats yowling for food because they only ate 15 minutes ago
Absolute silence - cats getting into something they shouldn’t. Requires exiting WoW for immediate investigation.
Before about a week ago I had never even heard of Sabaton. Bismarck popped up in my youtube feed because I was watching the new Rammstein over and over and over and man… I loved it. I haven’t gotten the same addiction to other Sabaton songs, but I enjoy the crap out of that one.
